Expectation and Thanksgiving - Perceiving Divine Secrets
Praise be to God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ in whom we hope, live and have our very being.
Tonight, we bring our thanksgiving to the Lord for seeing us through another year. We give thanks tonight and say goodbye to 2023 and usher in a New Year, 2024!
The purpose of thanksgiving is to appreciate and glorify the Lord for what He has done for us as we look forward in expectation to what the Lord has in store for us.
Let us take a moment to thank that Lord…. Now as we look forward to 2024, we must desire revelation from God.
The word revelation means….
Revelation 1:1-3
1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.
Ephesians 1:15-19
17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[a] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength.
Why do we need revelation? To perceive the hidden things of the deep that can only be made kwon to man by God in order for us to walk in absolute victory by faith in Christ Jesus. And live and effortless triumphant live.
The secret to excelling and making it through the most challenging circumstances victoriously is by seeking the unseen.(The Divine Secrects of the Lord)
Imagine four candidates preparing for an interview. Both are given the Job Description, Application Form and access all documentation necessary for the role and interview. They both research and learn the following:
Learn About the Sector and Organisation
Prepare Points to Make
Prepare Questions to Ask
How to Deliver Answers
After the Interview
Interview Practice
External Resources
However, only one of these candidates is given the CBT technique that will be used as part of assessing the candidates. Which one of these candidates do you think has an edge over the others?
In 2 Corinthians 12:2-4, Paul recounts an instance of a person being “caught up into the third heaven” and receiving secret divine revelations (2 Cor 12:2–4)., he describes a person who experiences a rapturous experience of ascending to heaven and hearing secrets that cannot be repeated.
Paul names the heavens “third heaven” (τρίτου οὐρανοῦ, tritou ouranou) and “Paradise” (παράδεισον, paradeison), which may reflect a conception of multiple levels of heaven through which the visionary ascends (compare 1 Enoch, 14:8–17 In 2 Enoch 8:1, Enoch also ascends to the third heaven, which is also called paradise. Paul’s account may be seen as consistent with heavenly ascents in apocalyptic literature and underscoring and legitimizing his apostolic authority as one entrusted with divine secrets.
Heavenly Ascents in Revelation
A final example of heavenly ascent in the New Testament appears in the book of Revelation. As with most apocalypses, the bulk of the book consists of visions the writer sees in the context of a visionary ascent to heaven.
The book begins with John “in the spirit” (ἐν πνεύματι, en pneumati)—perhaps denoting a trance state—seeing the risen Christ (Rev 1:10–20).
Following Christ’s dictation of seven letters for seven churches, John sees an open door in heaven and hears a voice call out to him, “Come up here (Ἀνάβα ὧδε, Anaba hōde), and I will make known to you what must be after these things.”Immediately he appears in heaven before the throne of God (Rev 4:1–2).
Like Ezekiel, Enoch, and Daniel before him, John offers a description of the throne room and its occupants, and the scene is rich with imagery drawn from Isa 6:1–8; Ezek 1; 10; Zech 4:10b; 1 Enoch, 14; and Dan 7:9–14.
IMPORTANCE OF DIVINE SECRETS
Genesis 41:16, 38, 39
The revelation of God can change the course of anyone destiny or story.( Prisoner to Priminister) it begun the it minute he was sold into slavery). He gave glory to God.
Job 1:3 & 4:7-\+
§§
Divine Secrets turned(feared God(the fear of the Lord) and shunned evil (Godliness) an ordinary man into a man fiercely protected by God and abundantly blessed.
Faith can make a decree by Divine authority and it will be settled. You can change the course of someone’s life or your life under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. You can change the course of history and nothing can change it.
