Opening Prayer

Proverbs 4:25-27

Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.

26 Give careful thought to the[a] paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.

27 Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

Focus

When we think of Focus, we tend to think of focusing on what we are trying to do. Like Homework or finances, maybe a word search we are doing. But have you ever thought about focusing on Jesus? Yes that right Jesus. we seem to think all we need to do is listen to the word of God and we will get it. did you realize in

Colossians 3:2

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Jesus tells us in this verse we need to focus on heavenly and eternal matters rather than getting caught up in wordly distractions. He ask us in

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

We as humans tend to forget that being a follower of Jesus christ is our only true calling. I realize with life we have a lot of responsibilities but if we focus on Jesus the answers on how to handle every situation in life will be clear. This reminds me of a song a friend of mine made me listen to. And when we talk about focus this explains with out Jesus we can't even walk without him holding my hand.

Through our scriptures and lyrics this week it reminds us we need to focus on him. for it reads in

Hebrews 12:2

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Jesus is the model of faith, endurance and perfection. we need look no further for our guidance in all we do. When we pursue Gods kingdom and righteousness we will never go wrong. We are reminded in

Matthew 6:33

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

When we focus on Jesus all our questions can be answered all we have to remember where we need to FOCUS.
