1 Kings 17:8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, 9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

To begin with I have discoverd
that God will direct me in my night seasons what I should teach and preach about. I went downstairs to my office, and began to pray and I said Lord Thank you for marvelous Mondays, terrific Tuesdays, wonderful Wednesdays and This thorough Thursday. And I could feel a heavy presence hanging over me. GO TO 1 KINGS 17 and see something you’ve never addressed before. And as so as I open the scripture to 1 Kings 17 I saw it. Look at verse 9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

And so King Ahab and Queen Jezebel has instituted Baal worship as an official religion in Israel. Elijah tells King Ahab that God commanded him to tell him to straighten up and fly right.

King Ahab got red hot mad because this one prophet had the gall enough to stand up to him. And to top it off when Ahab told Jezebel his Queen. She go in his ear. I know you ain’t gon let that one preacher tell us what to do!!! The reason Jezebel was so defiant was because she was a foreigner and Ahab had married her. Jezebel was drop dead gorgeous but rotten to the core. And the old folk used to say She coming around here like a godless Jezebel. Jezebel had gotten into the hearts of the people. She ordained 400 prophet of the grove of Baal and 450 prophet of Aserath. So she has 850 false prophets at her ever becking call. And in 2024 it’s still got preacher and even pastor going to the palm readers, the witches, the warlocks, the voodoo queens, and paying to get a hook up. But God sits up high and still looks down low He sees everything and everybody. And the church said Amen. Jezebel’s Promotion of the wicked syncretistic lifestyle infected the whole country. And grand ma says One Bad Apple Can Spoil The Whole Bunch. And the church said Amen. And so Elijah told the king and queen that there would NOT be any water for three years…AS a result the King and the Queen ran Elijah off.

And the bible says Elijah went eastward by Cherith Brook into hiding in the wilderness. And the bible in 1 Kings 17: 4 says that Elijah had fresh cool spring water to drink from the brook. and don’t miss this the bible also says that God commanded Ravens to feed Elijah. The Ravens fed Elijah meat and bread in the morning and then meat and bread in the evening. Black Birds are scavengers but God commanded them to bring the Man of God fresh meat and fresh bread for every meal. And this tell me that if God gives the man of Good the vision, then God will make the Provisions for the vision to come to fruition. And the church said Amen. Then in 1 Kings 17:7 The brook dries up..And so Elijah has to move on. But where? 3x and The word of the Lord come to Elijah and says in verse 9 Arise get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. Listen to the tension in the title of the sermon from text “God Commanded Them To Do Right”. Elijah didn’t know where he was going, but he knew to obey God. And let me drop this in your lap where you can get it. God told me to follow His commands and come down here and be a blessing to this Church. The message is clear we have a new board and a new pastor so walk into your new future. Watch this 3x Verse 10 says Elijah is obedient and goes to Zarephath. And when Elijah gets to the city gates, he sees the widow woman there. And Elijah begins to talk to her. Hello sister, can you go get me a drink of water please? And she didn’t say nothing she just started to go and get Elijah some water. And verse 11 says but while she was going, Elijah said and sis, you Bring me, a morsel of bread from your own hand. And then the conversation got real deep. The conversation got as real as it can get. The widow woman said “Mr. you just don’t know the trouble I’m in.. Because if you really knew how bad off I am you wouldn’t have even stopped to talk to me. And let me say something about verse 12 Don’t judge the book by the cover or by the circumstance or buy the situation or by the conditions. Because God has a plan. Tell your neighbor: God has plans for my life. In the book of Jeremiah 29 the bible says God I know the plans that I have for your life. And somebody here may be struggling but God is faithful. And the church said Amen Then in verse 12 12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. She’s saying I ain’t got nothing already,I’m poor already,I ain’t got nothing but a handful of meal and a thimble of oil. Mr. I’m gathering up a few stick now so I can go home and make a fire. I’m going to mix up up my meal and my oil and make two pancakes for me and my son. Then sadly Mr., after that we’re going to wait to die of starvation. Mr. it’s not going too be like the Epicureans where we eat drink for tomorrow we die, no no no it’s not going to be a party at all.But we serve a good God , Jehovah Jireh the Lord our Provider.

And let me drop this in your lap where you can get it. God told me to follow His commands and come down here and be a blessing to this Church. If He gives you the word take care of him financially,If he watches for your soul then take care of him financially and any other physical or mentally or spiritually needs he may have.if he feeds the folk taking oversight as the holy ghost gave him charge to do then take care of him. And the church said Amen.

And here’s the Pronouncement in the text and the Divine Provisions declaration in the text. Look at verse 14 Let’s read it together “For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth. Yes Indeed!!!

Tell your neighbor: Yes Indeed. Listen brothers and sisters God doesn’t bless like mankind no no no God’s blessing got your name on it. And what God has for you is strictly for you. Check the text… it doesn’t say that the whole neighborhood got blessed. The bible says that Before Elijah had gotten to this woman’s city God had already prepared her heart to be a giver. And you see when you’re a true giver God will give back to you press down shaken together and running over.. God sends the overflow. But you got to be obedient. Because the Obedience that brings the shout. Let’s read verses 15&16
Tell your neighbor: Yes Indeed. Listen brothers and sisters God doesn’t bless like mankind no no no God’s blessing got your name on it. And what God has for you is strictly for you. And you see when you’re a true giver God will give back to you press down shaken together and running over.. God sends the overflow. But you got to be obedient. Lastly Church “Can you imagine that you down to your last dime and God sends the pastor to you and he’s directed to tell you to give him your last dime and you give it. And God blesses you with not only more dimes but dollars, and not just George Washington s either but God Blesses you with Benjamin s and Now you can pay all your bills. and have left over for other things.

I heard this a preacher say one of the biggest reason why people don’t want to give to the church and to the pastor is because they don’t believe that God will give it back to them. Listen to me very carefully God is not a man that He should lie, If God said to be obedient and you’ll be blessed then Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding but acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths, and the church aid Amen. Come on give the Lord a hand of praise.
