How can our pricked heart be healed?
Such words cannot produce an effect unless they are believed
“It deserves our most profound attention, for it announces the conditions of pardon for all men who may be found in the same state of mind with these inquirers”
Peter told them to repent. Not to say a prayer. Not to recite a chaticism. Not to believe they were already saved. Peter told them to repent
Repentance is the firm decision to turn from sin to godliness
Matthew 21:28–30 “28 “But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go work today in the vineyard.’ 29 “And he answered, ‘I will not’; but afterward he regretted it and went.
Luke 13:3 “3 “I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”
Acts 3:19 “19 “Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;”
John 8:19 “19“You know neither Me nor My Father; if you knew Me, you would know My Father also.””
John 8:42 “42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me.”
John 8:47 “47 “He who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.””
John 14:7 “7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.””
John 15:23 “23 “He who hates Me hates My Father also.”
John 16:3 “3 “These things they will do because they have not known the Father or Me.”
You do not believe in me, the Son, because you have not followed the Father who sent me.
Jesus’ voice is the same as the Fathers. If you recognize his voice, it’s because you have been listening and learning from the Father
1 Timothy 2:3–6 “3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.”
