The Advance of The Gospel (1:12-28)
Good evening Imprint! So glad to see you all this morning! How are we feeling about exams coming up?
I don’t blame ya. Well if you are new here and you are confused about what we are doing here right now… This is something that we do every week at Imprint, we love to sit down for a little bit after hanging out and playing games and opening up this big ole book called the bible. And we do this because we know the Bible to be the living and active Word of God that tells us everything that we need to know about life and God! So we hold this very highly as a super important thing., and we hope that you all can see it as important too.
Okay so Hillaby did a great job at introducing this series of Philippians last week, so lets do a little recap for some treats.
Who remembers who wrote the book of Philippians?
Who remembers the two ideas we contrasted the most?
Joy and Happiness, we learned that Happiness is circumstantial, while Joyfulness comes from — The Lord
We were also encouraged to remember God’s faithfulness in the past, as well as to look at life with an eternal perspective… meaning knowing that all of the circumstances of our lives have, purpose, meaning as well as BENEFIT for our lives because of God.
Today we are going to go through the next little bit of text in Philippians.
So lets jump right into it! We will start with chapter 1 verse 12.
I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel, so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ. And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
