Protestants - Swung the pendulum to the other extreme using Romans 4. no action of any kind. Grace alone through faith along was Martin Luther’s mantra.
The apostolic definition of faith is radically different than the typical protestant
In Romans 4 the Apostle Paul was talking about works of the law, circumsicion and sabbath days. He was not talking about obedient action. The scripture talks about obedience to the faith.
Acts 6:7 (NKJV)
7 Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.
Romans 1:5 (NKJV)
5 Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name,
Romans 16:26 (NKJV)
26 but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith—
