PRAYER
Psalm 116:2–4 (NLT)
2 Because he bends down to listen,
I will pray as long as I have breath!
3 Death wrapped its ropes around me;
the terrors of the grave overtook me.
I saw only trouble and sorrow.
4 Then I called on the name of the Lord:
“Please, Lord, save me!”

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS
How do we deal with a troubled heart?
John 14:1 NLT
1 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.
John 14:3 NLT
3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.
How do we put our hearts back together after such heartbreak?
Psalm 34:18 NLT
18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
Where will we find strength stand again, even carefree?
Isaiah 41:10 NIV
10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
How do we keep from having the world take away our peace?
John 14:27 NLT
27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
Where do we get the idea that we will live again after death in this world?
John 11:25–26 (NLT)
25 Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. 26 Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die... ”
The last part of verse 26 is very important. I removed it for emphasis. It is the Word of God bringing that personal note.
HERE IT IS: “...Do you believe this, Martha?”
DO YOU BELIEVE?
DO YOU BELIEVE?

We have a HOPE of the Resurrection

1 Thessalonians 4:13 NLT
13 And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope.
Now he is not saying that as followers of Christ we don’t Grieve…NO!
He is just saying we grieve DIFFERENTLY!
He goes on and says in verse 14...
1 Thessalonians 4:14 NLT
14 For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.
Believing in Jesus has been an American way of life, culture, and dialogue, but just it is not the “Same Thing”.
So what is this saving power if it is not some kind of duty?
Romans 10:9–10 NLT
9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
BELIEVING makes you right with God
CONFESSING it in faith to others actually results in salvation.
DO YOU BELIEVE?
DO YOU BELIEVE IN THIS GREAT HOPE?
LET’S PRAY
