Anchor Verse…Prov. 3:5
Proverbs 3:5 MEV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
God spoke through His prophets like Isaiah. He used His prophets to warn of the judgement that is coming. Isaiah also encouraged the people, telling them of Jesus coming and how He would establish His kingdom on earth forever!
Isaiah 9:1–5 MEV
Nevertheless there shall be no more gloom for her who was in anguish. In the former time He contemptuously treated the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the latter time He shall make it glorious, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them the light has shined. You have multiplied the nation and increased the joy; they rejoice before You according to the joy of harvest and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil. For You have broken the yoke of his burden and the bar of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor as in the day of Midian’s defeat. For all the sandals of the tramping warriors and all the garments rolled in blood shall be burned as fuel for the fire.

Jesus came to destroy darkness!

Isaiah the prophet comes on scene and begins to tell of a king that is coming. Jesus would be a deliverer, a savior to His people and all that would believe. He would bring joy, peace, justice and would establish right standing with God.
John 8:12 MEV
Again, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
Jesus is the light of the world, He was then and still is today! Today He is a light in us. A light to this world. Listen to His commission to Paul…
Acts 26:15–18 MEV
“I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ “He said, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. But rise and stand on your feet. For I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and a witness both of what you have seen and of what I will yet reveal to you. I will deliver you from your people and from the Gentiles to whom I now send you, to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’
Like Paul, this is our commission today. You are called to open their eyes, turn them from darkness to light, to deliver them from the power of Satan to the power of God! That same annointing that was on Jesus is on you today.

This is what deliverance looks like.

When your in darkness...
Galatians 5:19–21 MEV
Now the works of the flesh are revealed, which are these: adultery, sexual immorality, impurity, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, rage, selfishness, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I previously warned you, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
When you’ve been changed and delivered by Jesus, the light shines...
Galatians 5:22–26 MEV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and self-control; against such there is no law. Those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be conceited, provoking one another and envying one another.

Jesus is that change your looking for!

There is always hope for those trapped in the darkness. His name is Jesus! Jesus is the Wonderful Counselor! He is the Mighty God! He is the Eternal Father and Prince of Peace!! You see when you’ve been delivered from darkness you have joy unspeakable, and your full of glory. When you have come out of darkness into the light, old things have passed away and all things have been made new.
Some day soon Jesus is coming again for His church. There is coming a day when He will when He will physically come back to this earth and deliver His people once and for all. He is going to establish His kingdom forever.
Isaiah 9:6–7 MEV
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder. And his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David and over his kingdom, to order it and to establish it with justice and with righteousness, from now until forever. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will perform this.
Israel needed to hear this message. They needed to be reminded that God loves them, and He has a plan for them. Maybe today your a bit like Israel and your trapped in the darkness, Jesus wants to deliver you and bring you into His kingdom of light. All you have to do to gain that joy and peace I’m talking about is surrrender your life to Him. He loves you and He has an amazing plan for your life.
