Misuse of Riches

Luke 12:13–15 NASB95
Someone in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me.” But He said to him, “Man, who appointed Me a judge or arbitrator over you?” Then He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.”

“For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?
Warning the Wicked Wealthy
Unbelievers who are wealthy
Now James is written to believers so what is happening here?
Addresses one crowd for the benefit of the other crowd
Not a Sin to be Wealthy
God cares how you get your wealth and what you do with your wealth
God looks at the heart
1 Timothy 6:10 NASB95
For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
Announces Judgment
Listen to me rich men who are unbelievers
Starts to speak to the brethren in verse 7
God will right all these wrongs
Weep and howl
Prophetic perfect = will come upon them and will ultimately happen to them
Money cannot buy happiness
Money cannot be your master

Self-indulgence Vs. 5

the other cows envy him only he is only getting all this good things to be slaughtered in the end

Murder - ruthlessly obtained Vs. 6

People have murdered for money
Many movies tell you to follow the money
Naboth’s vineyard
