Trust Christ in the Storms of Life

If You Know Christ He is With You Throughout Life

Christ was in the boat With His disciples. The command was given and they had launched out at His direction.
A raging storm on the Sea of Galilee. These can arise suddenly because the lake is situation some 600 feet below sea level and the temperature changes cause the winds to come sweeping down and stir up the water.

Never Forget that Christ is With you in the Storm

They struggled with the storm for a while, but were quickly overpowered by the waves.

Often in life we will try to struggle through on our own, but Christ is with us!

Don’t Fear the Storm, Trust the Word of the Savior

They were right to turn to the Lord in their distress. That was not the problem.
Their lack of faith was their fear of perishing! Jesus rebuked their panic and fear.
Their fear turned to awe - “Even the winds and water obey Him!
The Storms of life are Subdued by Christ!

Trust Christ in Spiritual Warfare

The Man’s Condition

He was oppressed by myriad of demons.
He lived among the dead. Satan comes to kill, steal and destroy. Christ comes that we might have abundant life.

The Lord’s Command

The demons recognized Christ as Son of the Most High God.
They did not want to go into the Abyss Matthew 25:41 ““Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Revelation 20:1–3 “Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.”
Jesus delivered the man from his condition and sent him home to tell others what the Lord had done!
The forces of Satan have to Submit to Christ!
