Baptist Faith and Message:
“Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. The gift of gender is thus part of the goodness of God’s creation. In the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by his Creator with freedom of choice. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race.”

I. Southern Baptists’ Doctrine Regarding Man

A. Man was created in the image of God.
The absolute bottom line is that God created man.
Man did not evolve from a swampy ooze and lose his tail because it got caught on a stump. If anything, man has devolved. Man has gone from living in paradise to living in sin.
Genesis 2:7 “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
Psalm 8:3–6 “When I observe your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you set in place, what is a human being that you remember him, a son of man that you look after him? You made him little less than God and crowned him with glory and honor. You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet:”
God created man to have dominion over God’s perfect environment. God’s perfect environment would have sustained His crowning achievement, Adam, forever.
If you deny God’s hand in creating man, how can you believe in Jesus?
Colossians 1:15–17 “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For everything was created by him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities— all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and by him all things hold together.”
Jesus, God the Son, was the agent of creation. Everything, including Adam, was created by Him and for Him.
Since God is God in three persons as we recently discussed, He created Adam with that same triunity.
Adam was created body, soul, and spirit, and it was God’s desire that Adam’s body and soul be controlled by the Holy Spirit. Make no mistake about it. God created man. God created Adam.
B. Gender is assigned by God.
God created gender, and God assigns gender. It is God who creates you male or female.
Genesis 2:18–20 “Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper corresponding to him.” The Lord God formed out of the ground every wild animal and every bird of the sky, and brought each to the man to see what he would call it. And whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name. The man gave names to all the livestock, to the birds of the sky, and to every wild animal; but for the man no helper was found corresponding to him.”
Genesis 2:21–22 “So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to come over the man, and he slept. God took one of his ribs and closed the flesh at that place. Then the Lord God made the rib he had taken from the man into a woman and brought her to the man.”
**God, not science, created gender and determines gender. If you were born a male, you are a male. If you were born a female, you are a female. Let me ask you a question. Have you ever seen an animal change gender? Do you know why? Because all gender change comes from man’s desire to sin against what God created and established.
Animals do not change gender because they do not have free will. People change genders because in their free will they choose to sin against God and society. People who are in favor of gender-affirming surgeries and gender-affirming care have made a choice to curse the God of creation and are bound for hell.
Did you know that man is getting so smart that he is becoming stupid?
2 Timothy 3:7 “always learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.”
Daniel 12:4 ““But you, Daniel, keep these words secret and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will roam about, and knowledge will increase.””
Through knowledge, man has gotten so stupid that he thinks he can change what God assigned before time began. Did you know Madilyn Rogers was designed by God to be Madilyn Rogers and not Mark Rogers before she was conceived?
Psalm 139:14–16 “I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well. My bones were not hidden from you when I was made in secret, when I was formed in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began.”
Not only did God design and create Madilyn to be Madilyn, He knows everything that Madilyn will ever be and do because God as we said exists outside of time. God had written in his book Madilyn’s gender before any of us were were on this earth, and it is sin against God if one thinks he or she can change what God has designed.
And if you want to know the full ramification of gender-affirming care and gender-affirming surgeries, I am going to tell you one of these days. Just remember this. Jesus said He would return when times matched the days of Noah. Gender-affirming surgeries so closely resembles those fallen angels who sought strange flesh before the Flood creating a race of evil beings that sickened God to the point that He destroyed everyone and everything but Noah and his immediate family.
I am telling you, dear friend, and you can dismiss me if you want, but once a person walks off the gang plank of gender-affirming care and surgery, there is no return because he or she or it will have become strange flesh, and you can read Jude 6, Genesis 6, Matthew 24, and 2 Peter 2 to see what happens, and we are on the precipice of that today which is okay with me because it means Jesus is on the way.
C. All men, women, boys, and girls are guilty of sin.
Romans 5:12 “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all people, because all sinned.”
I hope to put some false ideas to rest tonight. No matter your age, you are guilty. You are guilty of being a sinner. Now, please stay with me because I am going to share some great news about how wonderful God is.
We are all guilty. God loved Adam so much that He gave Adam the free will to choose whether or not Adam would love and obey God.
God did not want robots. He wanted man to choose to love and obey Him. That is why God put the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden. It was put there to test Adam’s free will.
Adam had no need of the knowledge of good and evil because God the Holy Spirit would reveal to Adam any knowledge Adam needed.
Genesis 2:16–17 “And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree of the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die.””
Genesis 3:6 “The woman saw that the tree was good for food and delightful to look at, and that it was desirable for obtaining wisdom. So she took some of its fruit and ate it; she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.”
Adam’s free will was on full display as he took from Eve what God had forbidden. He was not thinking of his disobedience or the consequences of his choice.( Gen. 2:16-17, Gen. 3:6)
You can say that in his free will Adam cared not what God had said, and he cared not what would happen because of his choice.
Every man, woman, boy, and girl since Adam, except for Jesus, has chosen and will choose sin. Every single person chooses sin because sin is in our nature.
1 Corinthians 15:22 “For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.”
Adam brings death because of sin. Jesus, the Second Adam, brings eternal life.
Because all are from Adam, all are guilty. Everyone is guilty. Everyone is born into sin.
Psalm 51:5 “Indeed, I was guilty when I was born; I was sinful when my mother conceived me.”
Everyone is guilty; as a result, everyone is condemned. Stay with me if you want to be blessed by how wonderful God is.
Logan is guilty. Joey-Mac is guilty. Noah is guilty. Griffin is guilty. Hunter is guilty. Roy is guilty. Jaxxon is guilty. Daniel is guilty. Andrew is guilty.
At some point in their lives, the Holy Spirit will convict them of their guilt. It is at that point those guys must decide what they are going to do with Jesus.
That’s how serious God takes sin. Just because they are young does not make them innocent. Because they are young, they just do not know they are guilty.
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;”
Now, it is time for the blessing, and I know this concerns some of you, so I want to give you some assurance.
Some squirrels, and I apologize to squirrels as a species for calling these theological idiots squirrels, say that since we are all guilty, even children, if that child dies before choosing Jesus, or if that child has a medical condition that precludes him or her from choosing Christ that child will go to hell or heaven depending on predestination. If that child is predestined for hell, he or she will go to hell. It does not matter if they know the guilt of their sin, and I tell you by the power of God’s Word that those theological midgets are wrong.
I believe that kind of nonsense distorts God’s Word, and any distortion of God’s Word is sin.
God will not hold anyone accountable whose knowledge of sin does not exist.
Through God’s Word, let me give you some assurance. Aborted babies will be in heaven. Children who die before they know the guilt of sin will be in heaven.
2 Samuel 12:19–21 “When David saw that his servants were whispering to each other, he guessed that the baby was dead. So he asked his servants, “Is the baby dead?” “He is dead,” they replied. Then David got up from the ground. He washed, anointed himself, changed his clothes, went to the Lord’s house, and worshiped. Then he went home and requested something to eat. So they served him food, and he ate. His servants asked him, “Why have you done this? While the baby was alive, you fasted and wept, but when he died, you got up and ate food.””
2 Samuel 12:22–23 “He answered, “While the baby was alive, I fasted and wept because I thought, ‘Who knows? The Lord may be gracious to me and let him live.’ But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I’ll go to him, but he will never return to me.””
David’s baby had no knowledge of the guilt of sin, and as a result, David knew his baby would be in heaven, but dear friend, the blessing and promise is even greater.
There are some here tonight that I better hear shouting Amen when I share this.
There are children, unfortunately, born with medical conditions such as autism, down’s syndrome, and others that they will carry to their graves. Their illnesses makes it impossible for them to understand the guilt of their sin.
Do you know where they will go when they die? They will go to heaven, and it does not matter if they are 152 when they die.
Their age will not change the fact that they do not know the guilt of their sin.
Some theological skeptics and maybe you want to ask me how I know that. I know that because I know what God’s Word says, and I know that salvation is based on God’s grace.
Do you want scriptural proof?
1 John 2:2 “He himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours, but also for those of the whole world.”
Romans 4:7–8 “Blessed are those whose lawless acts are forgiven and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the person the Lord will never charge with sin.”
Colossians 2:13–14 “And when you were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he made you alive with him and forgave us all our trespasses. He erased the certificate of debt, with its obligations, that was against us and opposed to us, and has taken it away by nailing it to the cross.
Jesus Christ died for all sins. His death and blood covered all sins, but more specifically, his blood covered all sins until the child gains a knowledge of what sin is. A baby who dies is covered by the blood of Jesus. A little one who has autism or down syndrome that will never understand the guilt of his or her sin is covered by the blood of Jesus.
As Paul says, that little one will not have sin charged to his or her account, and if he or she does not have any guilt charged, how could he or she go to hell?
Some of these idiots say that these little ones, including aborted babies, go to hell or heaven depending upon predestination. They are wrong. It is hogwash! A person goes to hell because he or she refuses to acknowledge his or her guilt and not because he or she dies before understanding the guilt of sin and not because a child does not have the mental acuity to understand his or her guilt.
I am telling you, dear friend, I do not have time for people who use God’s Word to mislead people and to worry them. People who say that kind of nonsense diminish the work of Christ and God’s grace and overemphasize man’s role in salvation.
Ephesians 2:8–9 “For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift—not from works, so that no one can boast.”
A little one with autism or some other illness that prevents him or her from realizing the guilt of his sin will go to heaven because Christ covered his sin, and God will not charge sin to his account.
Yes, they are guilty because they are from Adam, but Jesus took care of what would separate them from God, and since they will never know or understand their guilt and what God did for them, God will not charge sin to them, and they are wrapped in Christ’s righteousness. AMEN AND HALLELUJAH!!!!!
There are some other things that we could discuss about the Doctrine of Man, but that is a good place to stop. Dear friend, salvation comes from God’s grace, and those 62 million aborted American babies, and all those children who have died because of illnesses that kept them from understanding the guilt of their sin are in heaven, and that is the bottom line, and I do not care what some other joker says.
God’s Word sets the standard. AMEN!
