(Eloise, Carolyn, John and wife Lyndsi) May the Lord who sees in secret bless you.
I am also thankful to the family for giving us the opportunity of coming together to share in there time of loss and reflect on our lives as a gift from the Lord.
Prayer:
Isaiah 50:4 Lord God, please gave your servant a well-instructed tongue to know how to comfort and encourage the weary or exhausted with a Word today. Amen
A word of “Comfort”
A word of “Comfort”
According to the bulletin I am to say a word that will console you during this season. The problem is, I don’t have the word(s), the in depth understanding of your heart, or the scope of the grief, neither how long the journey will be for you. There is absolutely nothing I can say that can sustain: physically, emotionally and spiritually but don’t loose hope.
THE ONLY GOD
THE ONLY GOD
I do know THE GOD - who design your heart, who understand what you are experiencing now and what you will experience throughout your journey.
And that God our creator has spoken a Word that will empower you, guard you, strengthen you when you are exhausted or fatigue. The difference between my words and His Word is God’s Word never fails, His Word is Spirit and Life.
The word of God will empower you to do good to people. You can never go wrong doing good to someone somewhere , somehow regardless of circumstances.
Someone wrote to the family about their encounter with Marilyn (AKA) “Tutu” :
“Any day with Marilyn was a good day. She was so happy when I met Charles and thrilled when I got married. She offered up her home for a wedding party. She offered her home as a starting point for one of our little pub crawls, cooked and we laughed all night.”
GRACE TO DO GOOD
GRACE TO DO GOOD
Matthew 25:34–35 Says : “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in.”
Here are few words for the Lord that can sustain and comfort you: You are blessed and prepared from the foundation of the world by God your Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ to be a Service Provider-
One of things I learned about Marilyn is she was a service provider- good to people. It is a gift from the Father in each and everyone of us.
For some people like Marilyn it comes so effortlessly but for some of us have to work on ( Begin around people like Marilyn reminds us to practice our God given grace to be good to people.
COMFORT:
Keep your trust in Jesus Christ | practice your gift of being service providers- meeting the needs of others.
Finally, you may forget what you did for others or they may forget your kindness to them BUT the King of glory (God our Heavenly Father) will NEVER forget.
Cause He is the source for GOODNESS.
