GROW IN WISDOM
Proverbs 4:5 “Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth.”
GO GET THAT WISDOM FOO!
Wisdom is the application of knowledge - the ability to use your knowledge and experience to make good decisions and judgements.
We need to have knowledge about God in order for us to have solid decisions and judgements regarding Christ and our lives.
We are trying discern what’s right and what’s wrong.
Understanding needs to come from Scripture, that’s the source of right and wrong.
Don’t just be rash and don’t just act right off the cuff.
God’s will is not going to include sin to be able to do it.
Luke 2:44–46 “but supposing him to be in the group they went a day’s journey, but then they began to search for him among their relatives and acquaintances, and when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem, searching for him. After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.”
He gets left behind in Jerusalem and they went to the temple where they would find him. So he had wisdom to go to a familiar and safe place and public place.
They were away from Jesus for a long time actually. So he probably had food too at the temple.
He did not sin but going to temple and teaching.
Sheer wisdom for him to go there!!!!!!
Luke 2:52 “And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.”
Jesus did sit under teaching even though the Son of God.
PREPARE LIKE CHRIST
Proverbs 19:27 “Cease to hear instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.”
If you stop listening you will be disobedient (stray). YOU WILL SIN.
Have your obligations like Christ
Family obligations
“why were you looking for me, don’t you know I am suppose to be in my Father’s house?”
He knows he is the Son of God
He knows he had responsibility as the Son of God to the Father.
We also are Sons and Daughters and he does think of you that way.
He also obeyed his earthly parents
Our prime directive is to do God’s will and carry out his will.
