Acts 16:16-34
Annoying possessed fortune telling slave girl following Paul and Silas declaring what they're doing day and night.
Paul's annoyed. Casts the demon out.
Masters mad their moneys gone. They took them to the authorities and the result was strip them, beat them, throw them in prison with their feet chained. Severely beaten. (But guess what, they are Roman citizens so later the authorities regret it)
Jailer watches guard. Midnight Paul and Silas are praying/singing hymns, prisoners are listening.
Then the walls came tumbling down. Shackles broken, doors fling open. BANG this is a new one.
Jailer gonna kill himself because he’d get killed anyway if the prisoners escaped. Paul stops him.
Jailer seeks God, finds God, his family finds God. Viola amazing.
That day. Paul and Silas infamous getting into prison but God watching over them and still being able to do the work they’re called to do. Spreading the gospel and praising in the midst of struggle and persecution.
Today.
