“The belief in Sola Scriptura, that Scripture is the supreme and final authority in all things, was once held with conviction by Protestant Christians. Today, however, it seems many Christians simply pay lip service to this doctrine without being able to defend or define what it actually is.”
In a world that is dominated by entertainment, social media, and celebrity influence, the learning of important principles of theology is low on the list for many Christians.
Gr. θεός (“God”) + λόγος (“reason”)
Theology = lit. “God reasoning”
Google = “the study of the nature of God and religious belief.”
As a teaching ministry of First Baptist Shapleigh, SBYG ought to be providing a time of theological engagement.

So, I would like to encourage you to ask questions as we take time to cover The Fundamentals Of The Faith.
These are the basic truths about the Christian faith that Christians, or those seeking to know more about Christianity, should know.

Read 2 Timothy 3:12-17
Paul called Timothy to be faithful in his preaching of the true gospel, in all seasons, as there would come a time when people would no longer listen to sound teaching. (Read 2 Timothy 4:2 )
The only way to deal with false teaching is by holding to the trustworthy Word of God so that you will be able to correct those who contradict it.
Titus 1:9
He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.
With the emphasis on the Word of God, the Bible, as being the source of our teaching and understanding, it is reasonable to ask:
