Opening Prayer

Philippians 3:1-9

Further, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you.

Watch out for those dogs, those evildoers, those mutilators of the flesh.

For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh—

though I myself have reasons for such confidence.

If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more:

circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee;

as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless.

But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.

What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ

and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in[a] Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.

Apostels creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth;

I believe in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord;

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and buried;

he descended to the dead

on the third day he rose again;

he ascended into heaven,

is seated at the right hand of the Father Almighty;

and will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic** church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting. Amen.

Winning

Last week we talked about focusing on Jesus Christ. we discussed ways and times we should focus on him. This week lets talk about winning with Jesus. But we can't think of winning with Jesus in the same way as we do in our earthly comparison of winning and loosing. Let’s start with what it tells us in

Philippians 4:13

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

did you catch that we can do all this through him. not some things not certain things but all things. But not alone, only through him. Jesus Christ. Wow is that not a huge win? The bible often talks about Spiritual victories. The bible often refers to overcoming sin, temptation, and spiritual challenges. It stresses the importance of righteousness, faith, obedience. To the things God commands us to do. In

Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

You see even in his commandments he tells us do not be afraid. and he promises to always be with us wherever we go. Not just where he tells us to go but even when we venture of to places he tells us not to go, he is with us to help us through what ever we go through. I don’t know what you think, but I look at this as a win. When he even goes with us, even when he tells us not to go so if we chose to let him he can help. you see winning has so many different levels. With Jesus we never have to question his presence. In

Romans 8:37

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

So again another example of how God allows us to win even in our lack of faith. when we think about it when it comes to God when do we not win? God tells us if we have faith he will provide the needed endurance needed to persevere through trials and issues. He provides winning in the sense of enduring challenges with faith and keeping our eyes on God. it strengthens our commitment which is another win. If we look at

2 Corinthians 2:14

14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.

Here we see another chance to win. The privilege of being in the procession, used to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. and this was all made possible for us to be victorious in our battle with sin by what is mentioned in

1 Corinthians 15:57

57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

This verse reminds us that God sent his only son to pay our debt for our sins. Which gives us victory over our sins to be able to spread Gods word and help others to know the victory available in Jesus Christ. The bible shares the teachings of Jesus Christ which leads us all to eternal life. This is the greatest win of all, Being able to spend eternity with Jesus Christ. Everyone hates a bad winner, who keeps all the glory to them selves and not share it with others, and don’t give praise to those who made it possible. So lets all share our victory with everyone we meet, So they know they can join a winning team in heaven with God our father. What a better place to celebrate with others after a big Win.
