Chapter 1
Why are the pure in heart blessed? Because they shall see God.
Seducers try to pull us away from this truth.
The danger of secret sin
“Sin always looks better through the windshield rather than the rearview mirror”
“As we long to be with Him then, sin should loath us now”
Purity is a posture of the heart.
Matthew 5:27–28 ESV
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
- Rather than how far is to far, how can I please God? Is doing this glorifying God?
- We must strive for the holiness of the Lord
- “Purity requires both fleeing from sin and running to God”
Is God your greatest delight where you would rather be with Him than with porn or another person’s arms?
Chapter 2
Matthew 5:8 also works in the opposite fashion
Sin, pornography, is Satan’s discipleship.
Sin should mourn us, it should break us. Our sin blinds us to the light and everything regarding Christ.
Seeing God’s holiness exposes are sinfulness, it is the means in which our hearts are purified. It awakens our hearts for Grace.
Going to her savior gives her strength to overcome sin and worship God.
