Creationism

God is the creator, he created everything

There is an intelligent designer behind everything that is in the universe, and that intelligent designer who put everything in just right order, is God

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis account is the factual account of how everything came to be

God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

there is no evolving from the same bacteria, God created everything after its own kind

God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

man is way different from the rest of creation because we are created in God’s image

Also by counting time in the Bible, the earth about 6,000 years old (count the ages)

What do most people think about this debate?

think about where you stand

think about what you neighbors, co-workers, family

Many don’t think about it

(non-Christians and Christians) it’s not a debate at all, cause they never seriously put thought into it, they just accept it because the theory of evolution is taught as fact in schools

Never really questioned if it is true or not, or if it makes sense

because in the public arena people speak about it as fact (show TV News report)

notice that millions of years ago is not up for debate, just whether an asteroid killed dinosaurs

some schools used to explain that evolution was a theory (show pic)

but now books just start, “the earth was formed billions of years ago . . . .”

Problems

evolution is a lie

you can build other lies on top of it, like there is no God

and if there is no God . . . then there are no rules, no morality, no accountability, no eternity . . . do what you want

Some people actively believe it

try to find evidence of it

believe Christians leave their brains at the church door

actively support the spread of evolution

Problems

all the problems of above (lie leading to other lies), and . . . .

does evolution really make sense?

where did this point come from (from nothing)

nothing created everything . . .

nothing + nothing = everything . . .

0 + 0 = everything

that’s crazy

evolution also believes life came from non life (1st bacteria) . . . do you hear yourself

Creationism = God + nothing = everything

and God, who is life created life (Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life)

which makes more sense, which is more believable? So who really left their brains at the door?

it takes a lot of faith to believe that nothing plus nothing is everything

Then they talk about that point of infinite heat and density . . . t

infinite is God talk: infinite, immeasurable . . . but the starting point of the university is not a singularity, but a single God

Some people: God worked through evolution

maybe each of the 6 days represent billions of years

problem: then God’s word is not reliable (Bible says “day and night” and uses same words to describe days and nights in the rest of the bible)

and if not reliable in the very beginning . . .

evolution would also mean that people are not made in God’s image . . . we came from bacteria

if we are just another type of animal then Jesus did not need to come to save us

evolution describes billions of years of living, suffering, and dying as organisms evolved over time . . . the Bible teaches that suffering and death did not come until Adam’s sin

so if there was suffering and death before Adam, then the whole sin story is a lie, which again means there is no need for Jesus - no need for Jesus coming to save us from our sins

Some avoid thinking and talking about it.

some because they have doubts

some because they are afraid to address the doubters, scared of science

Problem

but in first Peter, we are told to be ready to give an answer why we believe . . . don’t be lazy, get ready to answer

don’t be afraid of science

God is the reason we have science, he set up scientific laws, nature laws, physic laws, math laws, and he gave us brains to discover them

the early scientists were Christians because they believed God created these scientific laws when he created the universe

they researched to learn about his creation, not to disprove his creation

There a a good number of scientists today who believe in God

even have Creation Museums

Some Christians believe the Bible and don’t care what science says

I just believe God’s word! I don’t care what anybody says

Problems

great for you, but what will you tell others who are truly seeking (be ready to give a good answer)

Bible is full of people giving other people reasons to believe God’s message

Moses - staff turning to snake, hand with leprosy convince people of Israel to let him talk to the king of egypt for them

10 plagues, Red Sea, smoke and thundering mountain . . . yeah these commandments came from God

Catching so much fish at Jesus’s command, convinced Peter to follow him

Day of Pentecost - speaking in tongues convinced the unsaved to believe their report about Jesus

and Science belongs to us, don’t give it to the enemy!

Some Christians, believe the Bible’s creation story, and believe that good science will support the Bible

and thus believe that Genesis and the 6 day account of creation is true.

have to wait out some bad science and dishonest scientist (staked their reputations)

science is always catching up with God

have to go against the world

The truth always comes out in the end.

What unbelievers replace God with is always worse and makes no sense and leads to chaos (exactly what satan wants)

the “Father of Evolution” Charles Darwin was trying to prove that white people were superior to all other races.

Those with children in public school need to talk to them about this

Even if you can’t remember all of this stuff, with the internet you have a source to help you defend the faith
