Good vs Evil

Super hero movies
- I love super hero movies, I first got into super hero movies when I first saw the movie The Dark Knight.
- Since then I loved the movies and Marvell made some incredible movies with the Avenger saga (Thor Ragnarok arguably being my favorite.

In Psalm 52.

David is addressing a man who executed a priest.
Psalm 52:1–4 ESV
Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man? The steadfast love of God endures all the day. Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, you worker of deceit. You love evil more than good, and lying more than speaking what is right. Selah You love all words that devour, O deceitful tongue.
David is comparing Good vs Evil.
Every Plot
- It is funny how almost every plot is the same. It is good vs evil.
- It is Avengers vs Thanos, Batman vs Joker
- Star Wars it is Good Will vs Evil Control
There is evil in this world
As Christians we are wrapped in the hands of God and can easily trust and have that trust broken because of the evil abiding in someone else.
“A lost person will act like a lost person”

Good Triumphs Evil

Psalm 52:5–7 ESV
But God will break you down forever; he will snatch and tear you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah The righteous shall see and fear, and shall laugh at him, saying, “See the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches and sought refuge in his own destruction!”
What happens at the end of almost every super hero movie?
The Bad Guy Looses (show youtube clip)
David writes that this man dwelled in his evil, he made his evil acts his refuge, and it led to his own destruction.
2. Light overcomes Darkness
1 John 1:5 ESV
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Dwelling in God

Psalm 52:8–9 ESV
But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever. I will thank you forever, because you have done it. I will wait for your name, for it is good, in the presence of the godly.
The hero chooses good as their refuge.
David is saying, because I choose to abide in Christ, because I choose to trust is the steadfast love of God I flourish

Conclusion

At the end of Ragnarok Thor and the people of Asgard watch evil destroy their world. But they choose in the midst of evil, to focus on good.
We as Christians need to be firmly rooted in Gods truth so that we thrive like a green olive tree in His house thriving in spite of wickedness.
