1. Choose the source of your values.
Psalm 119:37 NKJV
37 Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way.
1 John 2:15–17 NKJV
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
1 John 2:15–17 MSG
15 Don’t love the world’s ways. Don’t love the world’s goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. 16 Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. 17 The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.

For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].
b. Possessions

Coming back to the 3 valuable things according to the world:
a. Pleasure.
Hebrews 11:24–25 NKJV
24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,
Ecclesiastes 2:3 NKJV
I searched in my heart how to gratify my flesh with wine, while guiding my heart with wisdom, and how to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was good for the sons of men to do under heaven all the days of their lives.
Ecclesiastes 2:8 NKJV
I also gathered for myself silver and gold and the special treasures of kings and of the provinces. I acquired male and female singers, the delights of the sons of men, and musical instruments of all kinds.
Ecclesiastes 2:11 NKJV
Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done And on the labor in which I had toiled; And indeed all was vanity and grasping for the wind. There was no profit under the sun.
a. Possessions.
1 Timothy 6:7 NKJV
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
Ecclesiastes 5:10 NKJV
He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver; Nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This also is vanity.
a. Prestige and pride.

So, if you’re really serious about changing your lifestyle there are 3 areas that you are going to have to work on.
a. Work on your schedule
b. Work on your budget
c. Work on your responsibilities
Ephesians 4:17 NKJV
This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind,
