YOU HAVE TO VIEW YOUR CALLING AS HOLY. TREAT YOUR CALLING AS HOLY.
EXODUS 30:29
DO NOT FOCUS ON YOUR OWN WEAKNESS OR UNHOLINESS
And as a result you feel you’re not worthy and you can’t serve in ministry
because you’re not worthy because of this sin and that sin this failing and this weakness..
BUT the FACT IS none of us are worthy in ourselves, NONE of us are adequate
Paul said our adequacy comes from HIM (2 Corinthians 3:4-6 <primary> & Philippians 4:11-13)
So we need to understand I’m not worthy of my calling in of myself, And you’re not worthy of your calling in of yourself.
But God doesn’t call those that are worthy, those that are able...
He enables those He has called...
He doesn’t even call the Holy He makes them Holy...
In scripture this is key … some translations say You shall hollow them, you shall consecrate them.
The word in Hebrew is the word Kadash
This is a word that you’ve heard thngs like it
Kadosh, Kadosh, Kadosh Holy Holy Holy is the Lord...
It can be a noun an adjective, Holy Kadosh
Used in this way it is not a noun or an adjective this is verb this is Holy
IN the BIBLE this is a verb this is an action.
So it says You shall Kadash them… You shall Holifiy them… You shall Holyize them…
They were not worthy but you become worthy, you have to be made worthy…Kadosh, Kadosh, Kadosh
One example in the Bible where someone is called of God ...
And you say,” sure its me I’m qualified I’m over qualified.” THATS NOT IT.
When He called the prophets the reaction was,” I’m not worthy.”
The reaction of Moses,” I’m not worthy.” (Exodus 4:10)
The reaction of Jeremiah,” I’m not worthy.” (Jeremiah 1:6)
WHAT MAKES YOU ADEQUATE IS THE FACT YOU KNOW YOU ARE NOT ADEQUATE WITHOUT GOD
But WITH GOD this is your adequacy.
Also the word Kadosh to make Holy also means “CLEANSED”.
1 Corinthians 6 says this … some of you were sexually immoral, some of you were immoral, some of you were drunkards addicted, idolatrous, greedy, abusers, dishonest, homosexual, BUT you were washed, you were sanctified...
In other words we are all in the same boat. We are all sinners, But HE kadashed us.
IT’S NOT ABOUT BEING HOLY, IT’S ABOUT BECOMING HOLY.
GOD HAS THE POWER TO CLEANSE US AND TO CHANGE US AND MAKE US FREE NO MATTER WHO WE ARE.
Now, the priests were separated on that day they were given special clothes linked to it.
If they are going to fulfill their calling, if they are going to minister … they have to be separated… to God…
When we think of separation we think of “I’m separated from” and yes that’s true .
He separated them … (first He separated Isreal from the world)… them He separated the tribe of Levi from Isreal… then He separated the Priest from the Levites… then He separated the High Priests from the Priests…
So it is separation.
To fulfill your calling you have to be separate from that which is not your calling…
You can’t do that which is not your calling to fulfill your calling at the same time you’re doing two different things that are in conflict…
It’s not only separate from, it is separate to (God).
When I think on this separation I think of I don’t do this I don’t do that.
But it is separate TO… what are you doing? Not just what are you not doing, but what are you doing?
You separate from this “I’m not doing this anymore”, SO, I can do this … that’s the goal… (what God has called you to do.)
The very first world mission in history began when the Spirit of God speaking in the congregation saying,”separate for me Barnabas and Saul for the purpose I have called them to.” (Acts 13:2)
Began with separation it began with that
God makes Holy, but then we have to move in it… we have to do as it leads us…
The vessels of the temple were all consecrated they were hallowed… they were dedicated to God.
the bowls, the incense, the altars.
all that was consecrated/dedicated to God...
the priest dedicated them.
BUT you are a vessel the Bible says… so who is going to dedicate you? you don’t have any parents here to dedicate you…
a bowl cannot dedicate itself
You can dedicate yourself,,,
You’re a vessel with a Will so you can dedicate yourself. And the more you dedicate yourself to God, God’s purpose you become a dedicated consecrated vessel of God.
So it is up to you in that sense… if you will dedicate (which means separate- I’m not doing this, this, this, etc)
Aaron and his sons prepared themselves to be used of God… you also need to prepare yourself.
Some people say,” my calling is to do this, this, this… but that might not be right now…
most of the time ( God is soverign ) you have to wait but not sit around and wait...
Be a doer of God’s word
join a prayer group
do bible study
sunday school
minister to the homeless
minister to your family members… etc
being mindful to your calling and sensitive to God’s leading minister anyway ( ministry means to serve ) minister while you wait…
Do whatever you can … “ Be faithful in little and you will be faithful in much.”
don’t just say i’m doing this, this and this… God will use you, ( He’s got a great commission ) He is calling for help… help HIM out…
GOD WILL HONOR YOU. As you are faithful...
and you might have something to do to prepare that might be hindering you… you may not even know it in the spirit...
Moses had to circumcise his kids he was being disobedient to God
Still called though… God’s grace was upon him, but he was disobedient.
he had to take care of what he needed to do .... he didn’t do it…
The army of Israel had to get rid of it’s spoils to enter to win the next battle
Gideon had to get rid of the alters of baal in his fathers back yard in order to be used by God
So there is something you need to do God is Calling you.
Then you shall call aaron and his sons (v4) to the doorway of the tent meeting and cleanse them with water...
they weren’t perfect but they were cleansed
the priest had to be washed that first day
they couldn’t enter that calling without being washed
So the prophet Isaiah was called he sees God, he is amazed and he sees the Holiness and says,” WO is me I am unclean!”
He knew what he did, “ he is unclean,” yet God called him. And God cleanses him.
Then God says,” whom shall i send? and then Isaiah say,” me send me.’
he went from guilt and condemnation and shame in himself and he went to send me God…
I’m focusing on your cleansing i’m not focusing on me I’m focusing on Your power… SEND ME. GOD DID IT…
God will do it… God will do it in your life but you have to GO WITH IT… YOU GOT TO GO WITH IT…
That verse if anyone will cleanse themselves from these base things vulgar base low purposes …
he will be used as a vessel of honor…
And the principle is in your house… if you are going to do some mopping up you don’t use the good china to put the mop water in there…
And if you put mop water you can’t lift up as a vessel of honor…
So if you have mop water, unclean, unclean, unclean hindering you from being used to what you are called to.
GET RID OF THE MOP WATER AND YOU CAN BE USED AS A VESSEL OF HONOR.
GET RID OF THE LOW PURPOSES FOR THE HIGH PURPOSES...
GET RID OF THE DISTRACTING PURPOSES AND YOU’LL BE USED FOR THE FOCUSED PURPOSES…
