Looking Around, Seeing the Truth
I. I want you to look around. Look around to see the people you’re sitting around. See how they are dressed. See how they look. Observe their age. Their height.
A. How different are they from you? How different do they look from you?
a. Pretty different. The way they are dressed. The way they live. It might be different than how you live.
b. There is something that unites all of us. Something that allows you to relate to the person next you, in front of you, and behind you. We have all been and felt alone.
II. How many of you have felt alone?
A. When we think of the idea of being or feeling alone, some of us get a little uncomfortable.
a. Now some love being alone. Like Joe Sr…it’s no secret that he loves being alone in his basement with his guitar and rock music.

a. While is is rare that we do a cheer and a dance when we find ourselves alone in life, we have no trouble reading passages in the Bible where it speaks of “Jesus being left
alone?” Because we read that every time we read of Jesus’s crucifixion. He died on that cross alone. Abandoned by his father in heaven. How many times do we squirm at the idea that Jesus had to do what he did, alone.
