———————————————-———————————————

MY PLAN WAS TO PICK BACK UP ON THE BOOK OF EPHESIANS

And we will
But I feel the need to take the next three weeks and talk about the miracle of healing.
We are at a place in this church where a lot of families and individuals need to be encouraged in their faith and hope.
Over the next three weeks we will discuss
Jesus as the authority above all sickness and disease
Sickness and demonic oppression
Today, God Our Compassionate Savior
——————————————————————————————————————————

Today I want to talk to you from a place of humility and a place of rock solid faith.

Humility - I have no power in and of myself to heal / I do not choose who God heals / and I don’t understand why some are not healed and others are.
Faith - I know from Scripture God heals and I know from my own personal life, God heals - mind, soul, and body.
Today, I am not going to rah rah you. Instead, in humility I want to express to my best ability who our faith is in.
—————————————————————-—————————————————————

OUR FAITH IS IN A GOD WHO IS COMPASSIONATE.

Our faith is not in a ministry / loud prayers / all of which may be great but they do not save or heal.
Our faith is not in magic / faith is not a force in the universe we can tap into. Nor is there a Biblical incantation that heals. (Read this passage 7 times, while taking communion, while baptizing yourself in Holy water from the Jordan river).
No, faith is a strong resolute trust in the nature and character of God.
Lamentations 3:22 NASB95
The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail.
———————————————————————————————————————

JESUS GIVES US THE PERFECT IMAGE OF WHO GOD IS.

Hebrews 1:3 NASB95
And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
John 14:9 NASB95
Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Blessed are the pour in spirit / Jesus brings His Kingdom into the lives of those who desperately need Him.
Blessed are those who mourn / Jesus steps into the lives of the mourning and comforts them.
He who knew no sin took on our sin so, we can become the righteousness of God.

Compassion is the nature of Jesus and therefore, compassion is the nature of Yahweh.

Matthew 9:35–38 NASB95
Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd. Then He *said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. “Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”

Steven’s story - healed of back pain and what I thought was depression / conf.

LET’S LOOK AT A COUPLE ACCOUNTS OF THE COMPASSION OF JESUS.

Mark 1:39–41 NASB95
And He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out the demons. And a leper came to Jesus, beseeching Him and falling on his knees before Him, and saying, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”
Luke 7:12–15 NASB95
Now as He approached the gate of the city, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a sizeable crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, He felt compassion for her, and said to her, “Do not weep.” And He came up and touched the coffin; and the bearers came to a halt. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise!” The dead man sat up and began to speak. And Jesus gave him back to his mother.
Matthew 20:29–34 NASB95
As they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Him. And two blind men sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” The crowd sternly told them to be quiet, but they cried out all the more, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” And Jesus stopped and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” They said to Him, “Lord, we want our eyes to be opened.” Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him.
———————————————————————-———————————————————————
OUR FAITH MUST BE IN HIS CHARACTER AND NATURE.
NOT JUST HIS POWER BUT HIS COMPASSION
JESUS SEES US, HURTS WITH US, JOINS US IN OUR PAIN AND SUFFERINGS.
HE cares and has compassion for you.
THIS IS THE ONE OUR FAITH MUST BE IN.
—————————————————————————————————————————

HOW DO WE RESPOND TO THIS COMPASSIONATE GOD WHO HEALS

ASK AND KEEP ASKING -
Matthew 7:7–11 NASB95
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. “Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? “Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!
NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCE AND FEAR KNOW HE ALWAYS TURNS EVIL INTO GOOD AND DEATH INTO LIFE.
-All things work together for the good of those who love God and are called to His purposes. -
FINALLY, KNOW THAT OUR FAITH IS A GOD WHO WILL NEVER LEAVE US OR FORSAKE US.
Romans 8:38–39 NASB95
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
