God is the Righteous Judge 2:1-16

A warning against hypocritical judging!
People often try to justify themselves by pointing to the wrongs of others, but this is no justification.
Even when people without a knowledge of God’s law do what is right, it only serves to demonstrate the righteousness of God’s moral law! (The 10 Commandments).

Jews and Gentiles both Guilty 2:17-28

The Law Reveals Our Sin 3:1-20

There is none righteous!
The law cannot justify, it only serves to condemn and expose sin!

Righteousness Comes by Faith in Christ 3:21-31

Since all are in the same boat, all are in the same need for a Savior!
Christ is our propitiation (mercy seat) - our appeasement before the Father!
Christ shows both the justice of God, and justifies us with His sacrifice! In the same moment he satisfied the demands of God’s just and holy nature, and extended to us God’s love and grace!
