The Last of the 33 things
The Last of the 33 things
Chafer found and documented 33 things that the believer receives at salvation. He found these while studying the Scriptures. He leaves it to us to add to the list things that we discover. Things that happened and benefited us at our salvation.
Positional Truth - the answer to satanic projections and personal failures. Know who you are in Christ. Who you are in the kingdom. In the family of God. Don’t be separated by lies and accusations. Don’t let details of life distract you from grace.
Second - It is how we are to view fellow Christians - not after the flesh but after the Spirit. See others as spiritual beings having a human experience. Forgive one another, love one another, build up one another. We are as strong as our weakest member. There are no bruised egos in heavenly places. Jesus didn't just forgive yesterdays sins so we are not to hold on to yesterdays grudges and slights. the Holy Spirit is grieved by us ignoring His filling and anointing in one another.
Third - The best hope for a lost world is the church magnifying the Risen Lord. In glory and splendor. Anythings else is a distraction from the work of the ministry. We are running a race to finish strong. hoping to win the prize of the high calling. To hear, “well done, good and faithful servants”. Don’t get sidelined out of every spiritual kblessing.
Salvation (Chapter VI: The Riches of Grace in Christ Jesus)
XXXI. Glorified:
XXXI. Glorified:
“And whom he justified, them he also glorified” (Rom. 8:30).
“And whom he justified, them he also glorified” (Rom. 8:30).
One of the least understood doctrines of the Christian life.
We have this. If you are justified by the blood of the Lamb then you are glorified. This is a present reality as we grow we enter “progressive glorification.”
2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
This is in the aorist tense! a past action with completed result.
Isaiah 42:8 “I am the Lord, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images.”
Isaiah 48:11 “For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; For how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another.”
We don’t have God’s glory, but we are glorified. don’t neglect this tremendous gift.
John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:17 “For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”
Moses’ face shone because of exposure to the glory of God. How does ours look?
Do we pick on a brothers smudge and neglect the rusty appearance of our own glory?
Exodus 33:11 “So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.”
Learn the value of each christian as a glorified member of Christ’s body. As a child handles money $110 or $1 he must learn its value; do you squander, save, use selfishly, use wisely. How do we treat others?
XXXII. Complete in Him:
XXXII. Complete in Him:
“And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power” (Col. 2:10).
“And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power” (Col. 2:10).
Colossians 2:9 “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;”
2 Peter 1:3 “as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,”
πληρόω pleroo- To fulfill, complete. we are finished in the heavenly sense.
John 1:16 “And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.”
XXXIII. Possessing Every Spiritual Blessing:
XXXIII. Possessing Every Spiritual Blessing:
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly in Christ” (Eph. 1:3).
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly in Christ” (Eph. 1:3).
Two words for blessing
Blessed - μακάριος makarios - Fortunate, happy, privileged. Mt 5 Beatitudes. a great form of evangelism “God bless you”
here however the word is in three forms:
Blessed - εὐλογία eulogia - To speak well of , bless, praise, extol, provide with benefits.
There are six (6) corporate blessings described by the title “all spiritual blessings”
Ephesians 1:4 “just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,” chosen in Christ to be holy
Ephesians 1:5 “having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,”
Ephesians 1:6 “to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.”
Ephesians 1:7 “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace”
Ephesians 1:9 “having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,” Makes known His plan
Ephesians 1:11 “In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,”
“Such is the work which is now fully accomplished in and for the lowliest sinner who has believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. It is all superhuman and God alone could do it: nay, if man could even have any part in that work it would at that point of contact be imperfect, and therefore be blasted and ruined forever. These marvels of grace constitute that “good work” which He has but begun in those who trust Him. To this much more is yet to be added according to Phil. 1:6. “He that hath begun a good work in you, will perform it, until the day of Jesus Christ.” The “riches of grace” are the beginning; the final presentation in glory in the likeness of Christ will be the completion. Such a final perfection and such an eternal being is the greatest divine undertaking for the one who has been lost in sin. Nothing less than this would satisfy the infinite love of God. That He might thus be free to satisfy His boundless love for us He met all the issues of sin for a lost and ruined world, and so perfectly has He wrought that man need now but believe and thus receive the bounty of His grace. It is “Grace reigning through righteousness.” “For God has concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? Or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.”” —-—L.S.Chafer
