Believe beyond boundaries

to often we set ourselves up with boundaries that are not of God
Story of going to Yosemite
To many times we sell ourselves short and we talk ourselves out of a calling or we sell ourselves short and don’t take full advantage of what God has given us.
If we want to live in the calling that God has place on us we must remove our manmade boundaries and live in the calling that God has place on your heart
our calling is to follow God
Maybe you have said or even thought
I have messed up to much in my life
I’m too old
I’m too young
I do not know enough
It’s too hard
or I am just lucky enough to have salvation
We use these excuses because we draw a boundary of what we think we are able to do, when God is so much more powerful than our boundaries
If we try to do things on our own, we will fail or go down the wrong path
John 15:5 NIV
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
Today we are going to talk about 4 different boundaries that we set up that limits us from fulfilling not only a deeper faith, but also limits our calling that God has laid in front of us.

Anxiety

Anxiety usually manifests it’s self in fearful thoughts
We let the fears in the world in, and then we dwell on them.
I know that Anxiety can be crippling, I also understand that there is Anxiety disorders as well, but we choose how we handle it.
for some people it is making a choice to cut something out of our lives
My dad months away from dying watching the news
Me watching the news
vacation watching conspiracy theories youtube
we see that there is something that is causing us to be pulled away from God we need to get ride of it
Philippians 4:6–7 NIV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
God is not adding anxiety to us, we are. when we dwell on situations, problems, ect. we are opening the door to anxiety.
When I feel anxiety rising in my life,
I go straight to God, “I need Your Help Lord”
I then look at what is going on, And say out loud what is going on,
I take a deep breathe,
and I look to see if it is something I can get rid of
All while praying
The truth is that We are in this world and we have to deal with issues that are in this world until the day we go to be with God.
2 Timothy 1:7 ESV
for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
Does this mean that everything is going to be ok, NOPE
but we all have a choice to make, am I going to seek help and let go of this boundary that is keeping me down, or am I going to let this consume my life?

Bitterness

Hebrews 12:14–15 NIV
Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
Ephesians 4:31 NIV
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
Why do we need to let go of bitterness, because with bitterness taking root in our hearts, how are we to show the fruits of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22–23 NIV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Bitterness is from a heart that holds on to hostility, and does not deal with hurt.
How many of us in here have been hurt? you don’t have to raise your hands
it is often hard to let go
when the bitterness grows it spreads
we become critical of others
find faults in others
we justify our actions “I’m just calling as it is”
We lose grace and we are called to have grace
Ephesians 4:29 ESV
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
We not only lose grace but we cannot fulfill having the fruits of the spirit
If you have been hurt, its time to let it go, move past it give it to God, and pray that God would help get past the pain.
This boundary needs to be dropped to ultimately to further our faith and calling in following God
