Caring for Fellow Believers | 1 Thessalonians 3 | Pastor Jose

Amen, amen. So 1st Thessalonians is a book of Faith love and hope so we've already study chapter 1 and chapter 2 and that this morning we're going to be in chapter 3 and the title of our message this morning is simply carrying for fellow Believers caring for fellow Believers. Paul here is going to teach us how we need to care for one another as fellow Believers is it doesn't matter how technology events that we are how technology-savvy that we have become. Nothing can replace face-to-face communication and nothing can replace physical touch see all of us as human beings. None of us. The Lone Ranger's we are dependent on one another all of us need community and all of us need a physical touch, you know, when kids are born as preemies and just a little babies. Tiny Way Before Time one thing that they do in the nursery something they called. Kangaroo care. Kangaroo care is when the doctors believe Alden the neonatologist, they believe the best care of the kid can get at this point when they are born early is not all the medication that they are giving them. But one thing that is crucially important is the love from their parents having physical Touch. Where are you? Take the baby and put the baby against your chest with bare chest skin to skin and then you told that baby every day. So that that baby knows that they are loved. And we had to do that for one of our kids wore the preemie. And research are shown that's what they need most during that time. All of us are in need of physical touch. All of us are in need of love. We need the community. We cannot leave Lone Ranger Christian life because God put us together as a community so Dad we can care for one another and as much as technology allows us we need to use that so we can still connect with one another we still have former church members that I still connect with right now and there are steaks all different states, but we still can a can we still love one another we still care for one another but as I always encourage them to find a local church, then when they watch it online and they have But if we still need that Community we need to use all that have communication that we have to connect with one another but it is also crucially important that we never neglect caring for one. Another is the message in one sentence the message in one sentence today is that all of us will Face Mania struggles in life? As a special blessing and we Ward for those people will lovingly care for others. Look at the Book of Daniel with me in chapter 12 verse 3. It says those who are wise shall Shine the brightest of the sky above and those would turn many to righteousness like what like the stars forever and ever Is it serious to care for other believers and bring others to pay? When somebody is struggling in their faith, is it a great thing to be there for them to help them walk to help them stand so that they can walk. Daniel makes it very clear your dose would turn meaning to righteousness like the stars forever and ever. That's how their life will be. See. That's why you see I never stop telling you Matthew 16:28 go therefore and Make Disciples of all Nations baptizing them in the name of the father Son and Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you for God says I will be with you. That's why our mission as a church is to make disciples to impact the world. There is no greater call but you turn people to righteousness. So careful fellow Believers. That's what I want to share with you this morning three ways to care for fellow Believers as we will see in our tax In 1st Thessalonians chapter 3 if you look at your message, no. The first one is that you need to be a source of encouragement and support we need to be a source of encouragement and support for one another no Lone Ranger Christian and when one suffer all needs to suffer because the Bible says in Romans and 1st Thessalonian the second Thessalonians, we are members of one another when one suffers all suffer. We need to be a source of encouragement and support for one another look at the text with me in verse 1 of chapter 3 Tisdale for when we could bear it no longer. That's Paul speaking with the other Leaders with him like Timothy. It says we were willing to Left behind at Athens alone, and we said Timothy our brother and God's co-worker in the gospel of Christ to establish and exhort you in your face. You see Paul the great Apostle needed other people. NEC it was a hard thing for him to send Timothy. Timothy wasn't son in the face and I don't know if you know it, you know pastors need help and when you find somebody that can help you that is there for you you want to keep those person those people close because you can't do everything by yourself. And Timothy was. To Paul. He was his son in the face Timothy was Paul substitute Timothy was the guy that Park and say and you go there you preach for me because I can be in two places at once or today. I'm not feeling well. So Paul send Timothy to care for them as we said Timothy our brother and God School worker in the gospel to establish and exhort you in your face. You see purpose there. See that's why our first step is to be a source of encouragement and support for one another. So Paul said Timothy there to to exhort the believer that 2000i car so that they would continue to grow in their face in verse 3. It says that no one be moved by these afflictions member as Christians we will face. Many struggles many trials many afflictions. The Christian life is not how the Prosperity Gospel people want to make it that your life will be so glad when you come to Christ you will never miss another bill your money will be flowing like you've never seen before everything will be perfect. You will never have an argument with your wife ever ever again and your kids are going to be so perfect. You'll be so shy

Eventually, yes. You will have a great marriage eventually. Yes, you will have great kids eventually. Yes, you should not have money problems as you walking with him and eventually but not always because the Bible says in this world you will have trouble job said we were made for trouble feet as a Believer when you come to Christ. Actually, you should expect trouble because now you are living a different worldview from others and people will not like that. When you live in a different world you it's kind of like you're making them look bad or they just look at you and says this this is not good and they will even one pill to persecute you. The Christian life is not always that life that we're looking that no problems. The Christian life is not a problem free life. See that. No one be moved by these afflictions for you yourselves know that we are destined for the

Let's read it again that none of you be moved by does afflictions for you yourself know that we all want. Destined for this. What? Is this the New Testaments? He said we're word. Faith is a community of there if faith is not on the loan thing because what happens when we Face suffering is an Affliction. What what do we think do what usually happens to us? We get the storage, right?

So can you encourage yourself when you still low?

You need somebody to pick you up just like it says in the Book of Ecclesiastes. There's two are better than one because when one fall the other one can pick them up or keep you warm.

For this reason when I could bear it no longer you see the love there. Home just haven't seen them. Even when you're trying to reach through them you would call you would reach out but did not reaching back but God is in no no, no. No you keep going because it says for this reason when I could bear it no longer I sent to learn about your faithful fear that somehow the tempter and the devil has tempted you and our labor would be in vain the police saying if you sharing the gospel of a new believer, You keep sharing you keep sharing with them. As long as they keep the door open. Sometimes the door will not be open and they will cut you off. Okay at that point. I will tell you the last thing you need to do for them, which is also in the text because Paul tells us to do that for the first thing we do well for to care for new Believers or those were struggling is that will be a source of support and encouragement for them because a lot of time they will act the way that they act it's not really them acting. It's the devil work in them to push you away. Text is clear. See the way they encourage their receiving the texts the word power Catalano that's in the Greek. It's the same Woodward for the word for the Holy Spirit we call parakletos. Because we are encouraging one. Another God is saying the way that the Holy Spirit work is the holy spirit will work through you so that you can be the source of support for the person that means that at the moment. So when it says to encourage one another you are a holy spirit agent when you are encouraging somebody else that is struggling in their face. Somebody that is new in the faith that needs to stand firm so that they can walk. Because before you can walk you have to stand right. And it's a lot of them are trying to push people to walk but they have not been able to stand yet. And the way that you stand as you will see as we get further in the tax. The second one will cease like it's flu the word but but look at this year Christian Ministry is not on the visual sport, although sometimes you have to stand alone, but eventually we need to equip frightful men and women for the work of ministry. Why do we need each other? Simple life is hard, man. Isn't it? Life is hard. It's full of suffering and full of Affliction. We cannot do life alone. That's the very way that God design us. See we are made for trouble but God intends to use our trouble. What forgot? Member Genesis 50:20 what the devil meant for evil? God will use it for good all things work together for good to those who love God to do his work all the cording to his purpose when you're walking with God. Whatever comes your way. Just relax just chill out. It will all work out for your good.

What's the solution?

It's an r word.

When you're sick, you're with all of us make mistakes. And God says I will be with you you said that's the first thing I was sharing with you and John 16:33. I have said these things to you that in me, you may have what piece but in the world you will have trouble but take heart. I have overcome the world for the believer. It doesn't matter how bad it gets. Don't worry The Best Is Yet To Come always for the believer The Best Is Yet To Come. It doesn't matter how dark that. It looks right. Now how much like you feel like, you know, there's no faith how much you feel like there's no way this can get better for the believer. The Best Is Yet To Come always regardless of what you face so the second way that you care for fellow Believers is to share the word of God the second way you have fellow believer is to share the word of God. I know sometimes we are timid sometimes we try to give you men wisdom and people situation. Sometimes we don't want to come from people with the word when we clearly see the reason why they're struggling the facing what the first thing is because they are not in the word is because they are not living the word but the way that you help fellow believers. In their time of Affliction their time of need when they are new to the face, is that your share the word because the Bible says that the word can defend itself. The Bible says that the word is like a double-edged sword the word will go out and do what it means to be the Lord. The word is like a lion K-8 will defend itself word will go and do its work as the Bible says the word of God never returns void the word of God will go and accomplish exactly what it means to accomplish. So when you want to care for a fellow believer that might be going through a struggle the way you held them is not just for encouragement and support but also is the word of God cuz that's what will make it lasting. Look at what Paul tells us there and 46, but now that he has come to us from you and has brought us the good news of your faith and love that means not only they had the Salvation saving Faith, but they also were living it in love and reported that you always remember. Kindly as long as as long and long to see us in their community in the Christian faith. It's mutual. Okay, it's reciprocal as you caring for the believer. You know, they need to leave an opening there. I kind of like to come back. As Paul was worried and caring for those Believers and sending Timothy to care for them and to exhort them. What was their heart? All so long to see Paul and as we long to see you you see it's reciprocal you see when you face your afflictions in your trials. Your goal is to see one another see fellow believer not retracting loneliness that will destroy you. What you need is a fellow believer for this reason Brothers in all. Our distress and affliction we have been what? converted about you floofy Is it what bread comfort?

Is he when your mindset is to see God's kingdom Advanced when you see other people working in Christ. That is a source of comfort and encouragement to you if it's for we live. If you are what standing fast in the lord, it's when I know you standing firm in the word you standing firm in the Lord you see is the word the word the word the word the word. That's why it says all scripture is god-breathed and it is profitable. That's why by whatever means possible by whatever means necessary. We need to share the word with one another. We need to reach out for one another where there face-to-face whether flu letter. I know some of you are saying you need to be a source of encouragement other sharing scripture with one another because God has a way of sending us a Rhema word adjust into I'm worried that we need in that moment in 2nd Thessalonians 2:15. It says so then Brothers Stand and hold to the Traditions that you were taught by us. So the word of God holds the word of God either by our spoken word or by our letters. See you there clearly. So Paul is telling them a another for you to go through what you are going through. You need to stand in the word. That's what will keep you going. See when you want to care for a fellow believer as long as they keep an open door. You keep sharing you keep loving.

Is he a working knowledge of the Bible is essential for spiritual growth and stability. If you want to grow you cannot grow apart from the word of God and if you want to stand firm so that you can walk you can do that with all the word is the word that will give you a firm foundation.

One reason God has established local churches is that Believers my grow in the word and in turn help others to grow. You need to grow and you need to help somebody else to grow. So if you're not growing yourself, can you help somebody else grow?

You need to be growing so that you can help somebody else, bro. And as Believers, we need to be doing both we need to be growing ourselves. And then we need to help somebody else grow. Look at what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses and trust you Faithful men and women who will be able to see each other.

So when you come here you learn the word of God, you don't just keep it for yourself you use it to grow and then what do you need to do? You need to share it with somebody else is 4/11 and 16. It says and he gave the apostles the prophets the Evangelist the teachers to do what? Equip the second helping others grow for the work of Ministry for building up the body. Everybody needs to grow. What's the reason until we all attend the unity of the faith? That's maturity and the knowledge of the Son of God to mature men who would do the measure of the Statue of the fullness of Christ. Is that a good? We could have stopped there but verse 14 says so that we may no longer be children. If we never growing our faith, we are acting like children and then if a child is a baby and they calling isn't that cute. But when they won you will then they turn to and they still crawling is it cute anymore? No longer to you now, we worried we need to go to the doctor. We need to do something. We got to make sure that babies walking. It's not cute when Christian say baby stage all the time.

I mean you need a doctor.

You need some serious therapy.

You know where the doctor is. Jesus is the great physician. You know, what a therapist says. the word of God

and then we need one another. So that we can grow a baby needs a mother.

Cuz I got to get that milk.

They need a father. Did any discipline right?

Full meal and remember in chapter 1 and chapter 2 result Paul tuck himself has both a mother and a father to the Thessalonians how with them that their mother but at the same time also is exacting them to make sure that they walk in righteousness.

Rather speaking the truth. In love am I loving I'm speaking the truth in love, right? Speaking the truth in love we are to grow up. in every way into Christ Who is the head? into cry from home the whole body drained and held together by every drent with which it is equipped when each part is working properly makes the body grow, so that it Builds itself up in love. Comes a point where you can pick up the word for yourself. You read it and then God builds you up through his word. Did that come up when we need to have the maturity to know what God's word says and when somebody come and tell you or God told me to tell you. good night to you and you can say God didn't tell me that I'm on speaking terms with the Lord.

Where did he speak to me?

The only you are in speaking terms of the Lord.

I say you stay in the word. I will speak to you joining to God and I will draw near to you. So when somebody come and tell you the Lord told me to tell you so many just I just I was just with the Lord this morning because I did my devotion. I was just reading and God give me a different word.

We have to be in the word. Otherwise, we're going to fall for human cunning. That's why we're going to need to move different places all different time looking for a new doctrine. There's no new doctrine does nothing new Under the Sun. It's all in the Bible and the Bible and the Bible and the Bible alone. I love the way Tony Evans puts it how you stand. Will determine how you live?

If you standing on the word, you will live differently. If you're not standing in the word, yo life will be way different. How you stand will determine how you live your the bottom line? We need a strong foundation in the word and each other for support. Faith needs I will add authentic community. Faith needs authentic community. If you're not honest with me, if I'm not honest with you, it's not Community waste of time. We just wasting each other's time. Then we are being authentic with one another a I'm going for this right now. Can you pray for me?

I can tell you I'm going for this right now. Please keep this in prayer. You don't need to go gossip and tell everybody about it. I came to you I sure did with you to keep it with you and me and we helped one another I have a need. Can you convert that to prayer? Can you can you help me? Hey, hey, I need some help. Can you come and help me with this? That's a Fenton Community. I'm struggling in this area, you know, can we meet together for coffee and maybe go flus that scripture what God's word says about fear and I'm struggling with fear in my life all the time constantly. Can we meet for coffee once a week and just kind of share some scriptures together and pray together?

Faith needs a Fenton community.

Every keep it all to ourselves. We just will not grow. and lastly the way and we care for one. Another is flu prayer. The way that we care for one. Another is for prayer we care for one another and support we careful one another by sharing the word. And we care for one another lastly flu prayer. Let's look at the text. It says for what Thanksgiving. Can we return to God for you? talking to God For all the Droid we feel for yourself before God, isn't that wonderful. You see a fellow Believers need to be a source of joy.

Is it if you see a fellow believer in the fellow believer is not a source of Joy. Something is wrong with somebody in the relationship. Either you're not working with God ordained at working with God. There should not be any Rift in Christians relationship. It should be a source of Joy fellow Believers need to enhance your life. Not tear it down not make it worse not make it bad for what Thanksgiving you think Paul is taking God for them to be returned to God for you for. all the afflictions all the sufferings all the problems that you give a what did he say? although that we feel for your sake before God is like you bring we need to be a source of joy for one another as we pray most earnestly. What's that any type of Prayer? Earnestly, that's your life. Depends on it prayer. We pray most earnestly. sometimes night and day that means regularly praying for one another. So I believe every one of our job is that to be regularly pray for one another as we pray most earnestly night and day that we may see you face-to-face that means Sunday morning. I should get excited because I get to see each other how face-to-face and then what's the purpose again Supply what is lacking in you? Fellowship is not just hanging out, but it's hanging out with a purpose. Hey what's going on in your life?

How you leaving your family this year to Faith? How are you growing? Hey, how are you? Treating your wife? Hey. Are your kids? Walking in the Lord. How are you investing in their life? How are you sharing scriptures with them will turn to Christ? You see how it goes Supply what is lacking in your faith and verse 11 now? May Our God and Father himself and our lord Jesus direct our way to you and may the Lord make you increase. And a bounty love for one another and for all as we do for you so that he may establish your hearts blameless in Holiness before our God and Father of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all these fancy, he and all the chapters. We were looking forward to the return of Christ. That's why the Believers life always gets better The Best Is Yet To Come I love the way again. Tony Evans puts it he got the shaft or right he put it this way. There are no Lone Ranger Believers. If you believe all by yourself, you will not believe you for a long. a neon Church uninvolved Christian is leaving outside of the will of God because we know clearly receiving the texts where Paul was longing for face-to-face just like Hebrews 10 tell us not to forsake assembling together. And again, if you look at verse 12, look at here, is he Paul prayed for two things here specifically he pray that the Lord make you increase in a Bound in love. So he prayed for their spiritual maturity. You know that love is a choice.

Love is a choice and hear Paul is praying that they would increase not only increase but also stay about in love for one another as we do for you. And it's also a prayer of unity there so that he may establish your heart. He'll blameless in holding that so he prayed for their Holiness that they would walk in Holiness before our God and Father of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. So when we praying for one another we need to pray for maturity. We need to pray for Unity and we need to pray for Holiness maturity that we are becoming all that God wants us to be Unity. That's we truly love one another with Joe jealousy with no gossip. But only love for one another we're holding asked that we really walking when I was walking in the righteousness. We're not walking in sin. But we living for God Amen the message in a nutshell. We need each other to keep our faith alive. And that's why we all need to connect with fellow Believers at a biblically centered local church on a regular basis to strengthen one another and properly progress in our face. Let's say together. We need each other to keep our faith alive. May you help us to live according to your word. So that would might not sin against you help us. Look God to be caring Believers, then we would care for one another through encouragement and support then we would share the word and that we would pray for one another father. May you steal these words all of us we need to repent may you help us to repent this morning and start walking and those of us who have been lazy on the lazy side and that growing up and that helping others to grow. May you help us look God today that we make a determination. to grow in you walk with you so that will be in a position equipped or we can go ahead and do the same and help somebody else grow in you. We love you and we praise you for Indian father.
