I sank to the roots of the mountains;
the earth’s prison bars closed around me forever.
Yet you resurrect the dead from the Pit, Lord my God!”
That same day some Sadducees, who claim there is no resurrection, came to Jesus and asked him,
Now in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be, since all of them had married her?”
because in the resurrection, people neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels in heaven.
As for the resurrection from the dead, haven’t you read what was spoken to you by God when he said,
After his resurrection, they came out of their tombs and went into the Holy City and appeared to many people.
Then some Sadducees, who claim there is no resurrection, came to Jesus and asked him,
In the resurrection, whose wife will she be, since all seven had married her?”
Then you will be blessed because they can’t repay you. And you will be repaid when the righteous are resurrected.”
Now some Sadducees, who claim there is no resurrection, came to Jesus
Now in the resurrection, whose wife will the woman be, since the seven had married her?”
but those who are considered worthy of a place in that age and in the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.
Nor can they die anymore, because they are like the angels and, since they share in the resurrection, are God’s children.
and will come out—those who have done what is good to the resurrection that leads to life, and those who have practiced what is evil to the resurrection that ends in condemnation.
Martha told him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.”
Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The person who believes in me, even though he dies, will live.
beginning when he was baptized by John until the day he was taken up from us. Therefore, someone like this must become a witness with us to his resurrection.”
he looked ahead and spoke about the resurrection of the Messiah:
‘He was not abandoned to Hades,
and his flesh did not experience decay.’
They were greatly disturbed that Peter and John were teaching the people and announcing that Jesus had been resurrected from the dead.
With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was on them all.
Some Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also debated with him. Some asked, “What is this blabbermouth trying to say?” while others said, “He seems to be preaching about foreign gods.” This was because Paul was telling the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.
When they heard about a resurrection of the dead, some began joking about it, while others said, “We will hear you again about this.”
When Paul saw that some of them were Sadducees and others were Pharisees, he shouted in the Council, “Brothers, I am a Pharisee and a descendant of Pharisees. I am on trial concerning the hope that the dead will be resurrected.”
because the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection and that there is no such thing as an angel or spirit, but the Pharisees believe in all those things.
I have the same hope in God that they themselves cherish—that there is to be a resurrection of the righteous and the wicked.
unless it is for the one thing I shouted as I stood among them: ‘It is for the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial before you today.’ ”
and was declared by the resurrection from the dead to be the powerful Son of God according to the spirit of holiness—Jesus the Messiah, our Lord.
For if we have become united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.
Now if we preach that the Messiah has been raised from the dead, how can some of you keep claiming there is no resurrection of the dead?
If there is no resurrection of the dead, then the Messiah has not been raised,
For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also came through a man.
This is how it will be at the resurrection of the dead. What is planted is decaying, what is raised cannot decay.
I want to know the Messiah—what his resurrection power is like and what it means to share in his sufferings by becoming like him in his death,
though I hope to experience the resurrection from the dead.
They have abandoned the truth by claiming that the resurrection has already taken place, and so they destroy the faith of others.
instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
Women received their dead raised back to life. Other people were brutally tortured, but refused to be ransomed, so that they might gain a better resurrection.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah! Because of his great mercy he has granted us a new birth, resulting in an immortal hope through the resurrection of Jesus, the Messiah, from the dead
Baptism, which is symbolized by that water, now saves you also, not by removing dirt from the body, but by asking God for a clear conscience based on the resurrection of Jesus, the Messiah,
The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years were over. This is the first resurrection.
How blessed and holy are those who participate in the first resurrection! The second death has no power over them. They will be priests of God and the Messiah, and will rule with him for a thousand years.
