What are some ways the world tells us to determine our future direction?

Look for things that interest you

Look for things you are good at

Follow what your parents do

Wait for the right opportunity to come along

Take college classes until you discover something that interests you

God already has a plan for you. Our job is to discover that plan

God’s plan is to prosper you - Jeremiah 29:11

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
This does not mean that

God’s plan includes His design of you for His plan - Psalm 139:13-16

Psalm 139:13–16 NIV
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Not only does God have a plan for you, but you were custom made for His plan!
You are perfectly made for what God has planned for you.
