THE DEATH OF GOD’S SAINTS

Psalm 116:15 “Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His godly ones.”

The death of a saint (born again Christian) is precious because of:

1. THE PERSON WHO DIED – A CHILD OF GOD –

John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,”

Romans 8:15–16 “For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,”

2. THE PRICE THAT WAS PAID – THE SHED BLOOD OF CHRIST –

1 Peter 1:18–19 “knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.”

3. THE PLACE THAT HE HAS GONE – HOME –

Philippians 1:21 “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”

2 Corinthians 5:6–8 “Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord— for we walk by faith, not by sight— we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.”
