THE BLOOD

Exodus 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

The “Exodus story” is not just about Israel – it is about OUR SALVATION!

1 Corinthian 5:7 For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

1 Peter 1:18-19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

There is a fountain filled with blood, drawn from Emmanuel’s veins And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains

Oh The Blood of Jesus

There is Power, power wonder working power in the blood.

I see a crimson stream of blood

I'm gonna stay right under the blood

The blood will carry me over

It reaches to the highest mountain...It will never lose its power.

Exodus 12:22-23 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

Moses amplifies something that God explained in verse 13, because he knows the tendency of the people to do their own thing and ignore the SPECIFICS of God’s commandments (they’ve already done it before!).

STAY IN THE HOUSE! Death is not going to pass over you because you are an Israelite, but because you are in a house that is covered by the blood!

Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

When God wanted trees he spoke it, when he wanted man he formed him. But when he wanted the church he paid the price and bought it.

The death angel didn’t know WHO had died, he just saw the BLOOD.

It was LAMB’S BLOOD. It was a lamb taking the death of a man so the man could take the life of the lamb. It was a lamb taking the guilt of a man so the man could take the innocence of the lamb. It was a lamb dying in a man’s name so the man could live in the lamb’s name!

My sins: God has already taken care of them.

* He has taken them away – John 1:29

* He has forgotten them – Hebrews 10:17

* He has washed them away – Isaiah 1:18

* He has blotted them out – Isaiah 43:25

* He has wiped them out like a cloud – Isaiah 44:22

* He has pardoned them – Isaiah 55:7

* He has buried them in the depths of the sea – Micah 7:19

God does not predestinate individuals – you are responsible for your own choices (He has foreknowledge, but He does not predestinate you to do it).

HOWEVER, GOD DOES PREDESTINATE GROUPS – SO YOU NEED TO

GET IN THE RIGHT GROUP!

Psalms 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Romans 8:28-31 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

When Jesus died on the cross, THREE VEILS were rent A the veil of the Temple, the veil in the Heavenlies, and the veil of His flesh.

Mark 15:37-38 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

Hebrews 6:19-20 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 10:19-20 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

John 19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

1 John 5:6-8 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

What the veil of the Temple was in shadow, Jesus’ side was in substance – when they ripped one, it ripped the other!

The veil was ripped, not so God could get out, but so we could get in! Jesus’ side was ripped, not just so the blood could get out, but so we could get in!

In the Gospels, the disciples walked WITH CHRIST. But in the Epistles, the church is IN CHRIST.

Ephesians 1:3-7 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Romans 3:23-25 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Romans 8:1-2 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

1 John 3:4-6 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

1 John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

STAY IN THE HOUSE! STAY UNDER THE BLOOD! STAY IN CHRIST!

Transition

When you are not making headway. The prosecuting attorney- the adversary our accuser has just got a ruling from the judge. But when you have a defense attorney he can speak up on your behalf.

The Blood Still Speaks

Genesis 4:1-12 (8-10) 1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. 2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. 4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. 8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. 9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper? 10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground. 11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand; 12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.

Abel was killed in the field, not the sheepfold. He came on Cain’s territory and was slain by his brother. Jesus came to earth – on our territory – and was crucified by His creation!

Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: (Able tried offering produce from a cursed place)

Isaiah 53:3-5 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Like Able he died)

WHERE IS THY BROTHER? Cain answers, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” People who answer a question with a question are usually guilty! God already knew the answer, but was giving Cain space to repent.

God says, “I HEARD THE BLOOD!” The voice of your brother’s blood cries to Me from the ground.

With my human ear, I can’t hear the blood at all.

With a stethoscope, I can hear the blood MOVE (pulse). If I had the ear of God, I could hear the blood SPEAK.

Cain is the first son – he is like the first Adam who was sinful

Abel is the second son – he is like the second Adam who shed His blood

1 Corinthians 15:45, 47 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

Abel died and his blood became his defense attorney, pleading his case. God said, “I hear the blood, and I will get justice!”

The devil thought that by killing Jesus he could shut down the gospel!

1 Corinthians 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

As long as the blood is “IN” we can’t hear it speak, but when they pierced Jesus body on the cross, the blood flowed “OUT” and started speaking!

Hebrews 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

Hebrews 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

THE BLOOD STILL SPEAKS! I HEAR THE BLOOD!

When judgment said you should be destroyed

When your enemies sought to wipe you out

When trials and temptations rose around you on every side

If the blood hadn’t spoken for you, you wouldn’t even be here!

Justice said you should have died a long time ago, but the blood got in between you and the car wreck, between you and cancer, between you and AIDS, between you and the jail cell, between you and the hospital, between you and the courtroom, between you and the devil

Psalms 124:2-4 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

Cain was a tiller of the ground – he spent his life working in the dirt, what he was made out of, the place that had been cursed by sin. He was planting seed in that which God had cursed.

But when he killed Abel, God said “no more shall the ground yield to you its strength” – you will never be able to work this ground like you used to. If you try to do it again in this ground, it won’t work for you.

Before you killed your brother you could plant whatever you wanted to plant and it would grow, but because the blood has opened its mouth to receive the blood when you try it again it’s not going to work anymore.

WHY? BECAUSE THE BLOOD IS AGAINST YOU. IT SPEAKS!

It used to be that Satan could plant whatever he wanted in your flesh, and it would manifest in your life. You were helpless to stop it!

But if you are BLOOD WASHED – if you have “opened your mouth” to receive the blood – then the things that used to grow in you can’t grow in you anymore! So tell the devil, tell your flesh, and tell your weaknesses

IT’S NOT GOING TO WORK ANYMORE!

Satan plants many things in your flesh to destroy you – in fact, he even planted some seeds very early in your life hoping that they would grow up and destroy you now. And it would have worked, if it hadn’t been for the blood! THE BLOOD STILL SPEAKS!

Genesis 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

If you don’t believe the blood has worked a miracle in your life, just look at the lives of some of your friends and family. That same devil was coming after you, but when you “opened your mouth” to receive the blood, God blocked it. The blood cancelled it out. That’s why the devil hates the blood. And that’s why we proclaim the blood of Jesus Christ!

ILLUSTRATION: grass growing in driveway – mowing it just cuts it off (it continues growing immediately), pulling it up takes the roots but leaves the seed (it just takes longer to grow back), but weed killer stamps it out and kills what IS and what WILL BE just like the BLOOD does!

CAIN, GET OUT OF THIS TERRITORY! You will never be able to do what you used to do on this ground again, because the blood prevails over everything that has been planted in my life!

Exodus 14:13 – the enemy you see today you will see no more forever!

Hell's worst mistake was in spilling the blood of Jesus.

It is Finished.

1st Adam Vs Adam. Leave the first Adam Line. Which Adam represents you?

Adam was Disobedient, But Jesus was obedient

Adam Broke the law, but Jesus fulfilled the law

Adam brought Offence, but Jesus brought grace

Adam brought Bondage, But Jesus brought freedom

Adam brought us Death, But Jesus brought us life

Adam brought us Condemnation, But Jesus brought us Justification

The first Adam Cursed us, But the second Adam Blesses us

The first Adam Hurt us, but the second Adam healed us

The first Adam Put us out, But the second Adam he brought us back in

The first Adam Pushed us down, but the second Adam he picked us up

The First Adam put on the road to hell, The Second Adam he's put us on the road to Heaven

The first Adam ate off a tree, The second Adam died on a tree and he set us free

Whatever the enemy has planted will not grow!
