Growing in Grace

When we think about grace, we must think of a person Jesus Christ.
Grace saved us
Grace made us to believe
Grace justified us
Grace redeemed us
called by grace
Sanctifed by His Grace
Glorified by His Grace
1 We are called to continue in Grace
Acts 13:43 “And after the meeting of the synagogue broke up, many Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who, as they spoke with them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.”
To continue speaks of the journey that we take in God by Grace.
To continue speaks about the outworking of His grace in our lives daily and through different seasons of our lives.
God never gave us this gift of grace that is once off and means nothing to us.
What God gives us can always take us into the different levels he has prepared for us.
Continue means - This word means a. “to stay in a place,” figuratively “to remain in a sphere,” b. “to stand against opposition,” “to hold out,” “to stand fast,” c. “to stay still,” and d. “to remain,” “to endure,” “to stay in force.
Gerhard Kittel, Gerhard Friedrich, and Geoffrey William Bromiley, Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, Abridged in One Volume (Grand Rapids, MI: W.B. Eerdmans, 1985), 581.

[to persevere], para- [to remain, endure], peri- [to await], prosménō [to stay on, with] monḗ [staying, place to stay], hypoménō [to hold out, wait on], hypomonḗ [patience, endurance]

Continuing in grace requires you to remain in a sphere.
The sphere that we refer to here is the place of influence
God at times keep us from remaining in one place because our hearts has not been influenced by grace to transport us into destination.
Remaining in one place can mean grace to transform you.
To hold out Wait On
Grace will allow you to
Grace empower you stand strong
Grace empower you
It means as you continue in Grace on your journey you will have to learn to remain in one place, stay in one place and have patience and endurance.
Many people put a full stop at being saved by grace and that they are forgiven. This is so that they dont need to mature and stay immature.
Continue in Grace demands that you hear
Walk in the Grace received
English Standard Version (Chapter 6)
2 Cor 6:1 Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.
How we receive and walk in the grace will detrmine it effect on our lives

kenós [empty], kenóō [to make empty], kenódoxos [boaster], kenodoxía [conceit, delusion]

When you dont continue in Grace you begin to rely on your works to produce what God should produce in you. You make the grace of God unable to achieve it’s required purpose in you. Many people in the body of Christ do this?
This is why Paul said I am what I am by the Grace of God.
The word vain means empty, make empty,
Your local church and The word of God
1 Peter 1:13 “Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
Galatians 1:15–16 “But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone;”
We were set apart before we were born
Called by Grace -
Pleased to reveal His son in me - God find it pleasing that you will be a carrier of the identity ,image and character of the son
What He is Going To Do- Inorder that I might preach - Purpose for the Grace is that he be sent to accomplish the purpose God has send him for.
2.The word of God allows you to continue in Grace
Acts 20:32 ESV
And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
The word of God build you into what?
1 Corinthians 15:9–10 “For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.”
When Paul says I am what I am by Grace. He speaks of the change of identity. Grace has become his new identity.Paul also tells us that His labour operated by the Grace of God.
Grace has an effect on what I do and who I am?
