1 Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,
2 Oh that I were as in months past, As in the days when God preserved me;
3 When his candle shined upon my head, And when by his light I walked through darkness;
4 As I was in the days of my youth, When the secret of God was upon my tabernacle;
5 When the Almighty was yet with me, When my children were about me;
6 When I washed my steps with butter, And the rock poured me out rivers of oil;
2nd Scripture:
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
Going Back to Our Future
Going Back to Our Future
Introduction
Introduction
Some folks, like Job, are constantly wishing for the past.
We can all remember better days, or at least days we think were better.
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: And he delighteth in his way.
Now if we looked around, tonight, and we’d go back to some of these great churches, all the way down through the age, and say “this is it, this is it,” if you don’t watch, we’ll be walking in a glare instead of a Light. We’re looking at something that passed, years past, looking back.
(Rearview mirror)
Look forward! Look where you’re going to. Look where you’re going, not what you come from.
(Each age wrecked when the next age came on)
When, we’re commanded to look forward, keep going on. Their prophesy happened in their days, this happens in this day, and the next happens in the next day.
It’s allotted out, to the end time. And there is things that’s supposed to be going on now, according to the Scripture, the Holy Spirit on earth, poured out upon the people. 64-0318 - "Sir, We Would See Jesus"
There are some things I have no desire to go back to:
I don’t want to ride in a horse and buggy, I like my heated and cooled seats.
I don’t want to buy encyclopedias anymore.
Science has advanced, and God’s Bride has advanced.
Now, being that science has advanced to the space that they have to get an astronaut, and then, the church has advanced, and you notice, each time it gets smaller, takes less to operate it. 62-1125E - "The Countdown"
(Cell Phones)
Just because something is smaller, doesn’t mean it’s not as good. I don’t want to go back to a 1906 Azusa revival, or a 1980’s Charismatic revival. The revival we have is so much greater than that.
Then along come the Pentecostal brethren. They come back in their age, of the restoration of the gifts, restore back the gifts, of speaking in tongues, the gifts of healing, and things to the church.
Now, they did just exactly what the Scripture said they would do, and, when they did, they manifested it. That’s exactly right.
But did you realize we’ve moved on from that? We are in the Bride time, the selecting time, the time that (the Bride) they said we would have. 64-0125 - "Turn On The Light"
We must recognize what day it is, and walk in the light.
Past twenty-five years, Israel has just recognized that they’re in the homeland for something. It was prophesied they’d have to be gathered again; Hosea said so. We read it a while ago. God help us to understand it! All right.
At the same time, the Bride has recognized the evening Light, just begin to recognize.
The world has recognized. The nations has recognized. Science has recognized. The devil has recognized it’s the time that he can wreck women, wreck the church, wreck the people. He’s recognized it.
And God has recognized that there is a people on earth that He predestinated to Life. He recognized this is the time to send His Message. He’s did it. The people has recognized It, the Bride time has realized the evening Light. 64-0726M - "Recognizing Your Day And Its Message"
(Eve, Sarah, Mary Stalk Tassel and Shuck must dry up)
The Seed cannot get right, cannot get ripe, rather, until the shuck, stalk, and leaves, are all dry. That’s right. It saps every bit of the Life, in them, out; amen; all it was, is that, plus.
Now it’s Seed time, or Bride time. The shucks are dead. The shucks are dried up. The virgin Word time, not touched. 65-0218 - "The Seed Is Not Heir With The Shuck"
(Will not be man-handled)
If I taught you a Methodist message, it would take no effect on you, this is Bride time. If Moses taught the message of Noah, it would take no effect. If Jesus taught Moses’ message, it would take no effect.
(Denominational ages are dead and dry, the Bride will not be formed under dead conditions.)
So it has to be under condition. You could take a good live egg and put it under a dead hen, it won’t hatch. See? See, it’s the condition.
Well, that’s the way it is in this age that we’re living in, you’ve got to find what is God’s way of doing it for this age.
That’s what Martin Luther found, that’s what John Wesley found, that’s what the Pentecostals found in their age. God’s age and time to do it. 65-1128M - "God's Only Provided Place Of Worship"
There is something we need to back to. Our Message was a Message of restoration. Taking us back to a rapture condition.
(Get back in line)
We must get back to the Word for our day, the Message of the Hour. It is not our past, but our future.
It’s not a dead letter, but it’s alive. It is anointed to produce sons and daughters of God for this day.
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
It has life in it, it is anointed, it keeps our families, it blesses our homes, it keeps church spiritual and in order. Don’t tell me you have to leave the Message or what a prophet taught to find revival. The revival is in me and you.
Where are we going back to? The back part of God’s mind.
Now, God’s secret mystery, He had before the world began. Now, back in the back part of God’s mind, there was something that He was trying and was going to achieve, and He had a motive in doing it, in order to let Himself be expressed.
(God becoming God)
Now, God had a purpose and a hidden mystery. And that’s what I want to speak on to the Church this morning, the hidden mystery of God that He had in His mind before the world ever began, and how that it’s unfolded itself right down to this present hour that we’re living. See? Then you will understand clearly then, you see, on, I believe, what is being done. 63-0728 - "Christ Is The Mystery Of God Revealed"
The Opening of the Book took us back to a place before. Back to before I ever sinned. Back to our existence in the Mind of Elohim.
7 When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
No wonder we shout when we hear the Word preached. We shouted there.
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
This Message takes us back to those thoughts.
Watch carefully now and see this. Before there was ever a speck of star dust; before God was God (God is an object of adoration and no one was there to worship Him, so He was at that time only potentially God), and He was known only as eternal Spirit, the bride was already in His mind.
Yes, she was. She was existing in His thoughts. And what about those thoughts of God? They are eternal, are they not?
The eternal thoughts of God! Let me ask you, “Are the thoughts of God eternal?” If you can see this, you will see many things.
Bro. Branham tells us three things about God:
God is unchangeable.
God is infinite in His abilities.
He is omniscient.
He has never had a new thought about anything because all His thoughts He has always had and always will have, and knows the end from the beginning because He is God.
THUS THE THOUGHTS OF GOD ARE ETERNAL. THEY ARE REAL. They are not simply like a man with a blueprint he has drawn up and which one day will be translated into substance and form, but they are already real and eternal, and part of God. An Exposition Of The Seven Church Ages (4 - The Smyrnaean Church Age)
15 My substance was not hid from thee, When I was made in secret, And curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; And in thy book all my members were written, Which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!
Bro. Branham said if he could have picked a time to live, at that time, he would have picked this time.
And back there, if I could have known as I know now, and could have looked over the whole span of time, and He would have said to me, “What time do you want to live?”
I’d have said this time right now, just the eve of the ending up of world history, and the oncoming of the Kingdom of God to be established in the earth. I think it’s the most glorious time of all ages, is right now. 65-0123 - "Broken Cisterns"
I don’t want to go back to denominational ages or even some place in Message History, but take me back to an Open Book. I’m not looking for an emotion or a good feeling, but take me back to the fulness of the Word manifested in human flesh.
Back to the Message of the Hour, because the Message is our future.
If we know what we were in the thoughts of God, we know what we will be in the fulness of manifestation.
The Holy Ghost is the power that makes us sons and daughters of God. Without it, we cannot go back to our future.
In Paragraph 39 of Questions and Answers No. 2 in 1964 Bro. Branham answers a question about the Holy Ghost.
40 Now, there’s a good question. Now, the baptism with the Holy Spirit is a definite experience that a person must receive.
Evidence: Tongues, Love
44 …There’s only one evidence of the Holy Spirit that I know of, and that is a genuine faith in the promised Word of the hour!
48 Now, now, when a man receives Christ in the manner that He is in, you can’t accept it as being…See? Now, some of them say, “Well, I’m a Lutheran.” Well, there’s nothing against that, but the Eagles don’t feed on that. See?
That was as far as it was; that was fresh food of that day. “I’m a Wesleyan.” That’s all right, but you’re living in the past. See?
49 So being a well-trained theologian had nothing to do with it. Being meek and gentle had nothing to do with it. What made Him different?
He was the Word made flesh, not the Word for the day of Moses, Moses was that day, Word; not the Word for the days of Noah, Noah was the Word for that day; not the day…the Word for the day of Elijah, Elijah was that Word for that day; but He was the present tense Word, and they were living in the back.
50 The same thing repeats! That’s the evidence of the Holy Ghost, when God reveals to you and you see it, THUS SAITH THE LORD and accept it. Not what you are, what you was, or nothing about it, it’s what God has done for you now. There’s the evidence.
55 Now, the Holy Spirit, when It comes, It is a witness unto you (see?) that this Word is right, the Word for today, not the Word for Luther, the Word, not for Moses. We witness It’s the Truth, but it’s another day.
56 Now, what if Jesus would come and said, “Now, as Moses come taking you all out of Egypt, I’ve come taking you somewhere else”? What if He said, “Let’s go to work and build an ark. I’m the Lord God, I’m going to float the world away now. I’m going to drown the world, all of them”?
See, the Scripture never said He’d come like that. See? He wouldn’t have been the Messiah. No matter how much ark He’d built, or whatever He had done. He’s still not…He’d have not qualified the Messiah. Hallelujah! There you are! It’s qualification! Yes, sir!
He was that which was perfect. That which was perfect didn’t need to replay the role of Noah, He was the ark.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
57 First Corinthians 13 says this: “When that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away with.” So all these little things of jumping up and down like a kid, trying to talk in tongues, and all these other things, when that which is perfect…
And we do have today, by God’s help, the perfect interpretation of the Word with Divine vindication! Then that which is in part is done away with. 64-0823E - "Questions And Answers #2"
What are we going back to?
Back to a True Pentecostal Experience, a St. Paul’s revival, the true baptism of the Holy Ghost, and the manifestation of the Word for our day.
Back to the Faith Once Delivered to the Saints.
Once the vail of denomination was rent, that which was perfect came into full view. The Word became our atonement. A place of Mercy in an hour of judgment.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Well, that’s exactly what the Church has done. It come from Luther, Wesley, and now back to the original Grain, back to Its original Glory, back to the Glory It was at the beginning. The Son that rose in the East, it’s the same Son that’s manifesting the same thing in the West, changing from Glory to Glory.
It changed from the pagan, down into Luther; and from Luther, down into Wesley; from Wesley, out into Pentecost; and on and on, changing from Glory to Glory, producing the hidden Manna.
And now It’s ripe, to bring Him back exactly like He was at the beginning, His same ministry; the same Jesus, the same power, the same Holy Ghost. The same One that come down on the Day of Pentecost, is the same Holy Ghost that’s manifested today, from Glory unto Glory, to Glory.
And is back to Its original Seed, with the baptism of the Holy Ghost; with the same signs, same wonders, same baptism; same kind of people, acting the same way, with the same power, the same sensation.
Same as what? Not 1906, 1738, or 1517, but Acts 2.
When we go back to Acts 2 we don’t stop there, but we go all the way back to the mind of God.
The vail of denomination was rent! Now we can go back.
It’s from Glory unto Glory. And the next will be, “Changed from this Glory, into a body like His Own glorious body, where we shall see Him.” Abraham saw the same. 64-0629 - "The Mighty God Unveiled Before Us"
We’re going back to a Rapture.
Abraham went back to his future. He was a young man again, but this time he could produce the promised Son.
He went back beyond his mistakes, he staggered not at the promise of God.
This Message is taking us back to Our Future.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
And then we’ll all get together. And when they begin to get together, then we which are alive and remain shall be changed. These mortal bodies will not see death, but just of a sudden, there’ll be like a sweep go over us, and you’re changed.
You’re turned back like Abraham was, from an old man to a young man, from an old woman to a young woman.
What’s this sudden change? And after while you’re traveling like a thought, and you can see those then who are already resurrected. Oh, what a hour! Then we’ll gather with them and then be caught up with them to meet the Lord in the air. 64-0823M - "Questions And Answers #1"
Job said “Oh that I was young again”
God said, “let me take the vail off”
25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, And that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, Yet in my flesh shall I see God:
Conclusion
Conclusion
Keep looking at the unveiled Word, you will be changed. The same Holy Spirit anointing the same Word that produced the miracle of the New Birth in your life, will produce the Body Change.
If you’ve never had that change. If there’s no desire in you for this Word, If you quench that holy thirst with the things of the world, why don’t you go back to your future?
