Communion

Remember - Wee tacker - My mother was doing something, and I said “Stop it you funky lady” - Well, she thought I didn’t use the word Funky, and it was another word - I dare not repeat in Church.
Well - She punished me, and kept punishing me until I would admit “the truth” - Even though I didn’t do it.
Man, Did I feel like it was unfair. I was getting something, I did not deserve.
it makes me reflect on the cross;
Jesus - Sitting there, with his disciples, completely sinless - knowing he was about to be betrayed -
Took wine - Told them to divide it - Took the bread and said
Luke 22:19 ESV
And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
What are we remembering?
Luke 22:20 ESV
And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.
a Covenant - Meaning - A deal - We get what Jesus has, and he get’s what we have.
He recieved the wrath of God - on the Cross for our sins- his blood poured out for us.
We get? Grace - A free Gift;
Ephesians 2:8 ESV
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
So - As we take communion - Let’s remember.
*pray* *Communion*
Psalm 40:1–3 ESV
I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.
