To Whom Do You Think You Are Talking To?

We we pray, we must realize, recognize, and honor we are talking to God our Father.

Matthew 6:7–14 ““And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,”

Prayer is not a wishing ritual, it is expressing our dependency, appreciation, and concerns towards Gods.

One who name is to be reverenced.

One who is actively working to fulfill His will.

Your will Be Done

Matthew 6:10 “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

John 5:19 “So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.”

They are talking about you, so you need to talk to your Father 2 Kings 6:11–14 “And the mind of the king of Syria was greatly troubled because of this thing, and he called his servants and said to them, “Will you not show me who of us is for the king of Israel?” And one of his servants said, “None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.” And he said, “Go and see where he is, that I may send and seize him.” It was told him, “Behold, he is in Dothan.” So he sent there horses and chariots and a great army, and they came by night and surrounded the city.”

When he changes your perspective 2 Kings 6:15–17 “When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. What shall we do?” He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”

When He changes your perspective

Give us this day our daily bread

Matthew 6:11 “Give us this day our daily bread,”

Enough for today, not yesterdays stale bread, nor tomorrow bread that is not ready

We can bring our complaints before the Father

Pray for contentment; especially when every thing is designed to make discontent.

If they can’t see the vision stop paying it attention

Deuteronomy 6:13 “It is the Lord your God you shall fear. Him you shall serve and by his name you shall swear.” Deuteronomy 10:20 “You shall fear the Lord your God. You shall serve him and hold fast to him, and by his name you shall swear.”

What can we ask for?

Daily provision, forgiveness and guidance

Holiness of prayer

Exodus 30:34–38 “The Lord said to Moses, “Take sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum, sweet spices with pure frankincense (of each shall there be an equal part), and make an incense blended as by the perfumer, seasoned with salt, pure and holy. You shall beat some of it very small, and put part of it before the testimony in the tent of meeting where I shall meet with you. It shall be most holy for you. And the incense that you shall make according to its composition, you shall not make for yourselves. It shall be for you holy to the Lord. Whoever makes any like it to use as perfume shall be cut off from his people.””
