Theme of James: Be Mature.

Key Verse: Jm1:4

And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.

Author: Who is James the author of the letter?

There are 4 James in the New testament

1.James the son of Zebedee and brother of John also known as one of the sons of Thunder by Jesus Mk3:17

2.James, the son of Alphaeus brother of Matthew Mt10:3, Mk2:14

3. James, the father of Judas the disciple not Judas Iscariot Lk6:16

4. James the brother of Jesus Mk6:3

Most Bible Scholars beleive it is James the brother of Jesus.

When was it written: James is the first book written in the New Testament most Bible scholars believe it was written within 10 years of the resurrection some even believe possibly within just a few years.

Key information: on the book of James James has 108 verses 54 commands everyone that's good at math knows that that basically means every other verse is a command

James gives us 5 Marks of a mature Christian:
