What is your dream job?

What is your top priority in life right now? Does your life reflect that?

Introduction

Survivor
American Idol

Your heart is a perpetual Idol Factory

When we make something more important than God
When we think of God in an incorrect way
When we make any sort of image of God

Scripture (First and Second commandment)

Exodus 20:3–6 ESV
“You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Distinction

The first commandment has God looking at all of the different nations and the False Gods they serve
The second commandment looks at how they worship their false gods
God says that He is having none of that
The only image that God allows, are His image bearers

The Heart attack

Some of us have made an idol of image
social media presence
Social chameleon
pride
Puffing up
being popular

The Solution

What to do

Limit Screen time (social screen time)
Is what I’m doing right now giving my name glory of God’s name glory?
Why do I feel like I need to puff myself up?
