Men of Conviction

Introduction

The world in which we live today - There is a satanic agenda. Culture, feminism, and masculinity are bad, Up is down, down is up, and post-modern without truth. We, as men, can’t afford to sit in silence. We can’t turn a blind eye. There is too much at steak

The world needs Jesus, and His spirit lives in us. The world needs men of conviction.

Scripture

Ephesians 4:11–17 ESV

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds.

I’d love to spend a lot of time in this text and expound all the truth; however, there are a few points I want to make from the text.

1. A man of conviction needs to know he was created for ministry.

One must be equipped for the ministry - He gave

We are called to be ministers in our family. This must be a conviction.

We are called to be ministers in our church - Building up the body

We are called to ministers in our community ie, sphere of influence Oikos

2. The man of conviction must mature to manhood.

Supports the unity of the faith

No longer are children tossed to and fro

3. The man of conviction must speak the truth in love.
