Left Behind

Titus 1:4–16 AMP
4 To Titus, my true child according to a common (general) faith: Grace (favor and spiritual blessing) and [heart] peace from God the Father and the Lord Christ Jesus our Savior. 5 For this reason I left you [behind] in Crete, that you might set right what was defective and finish what was left undone, and that you might appoint elders and set them over the churches (assemblies) in every city as I directed you. 6 [These elders should be] men who are of unquestionable integrity and are irreproachable, the husband of [but] one wife, whose children are [well trained and are] believers, not open to the accusation of being loose in morals and conduct or unruly and disorderly. 7 For the bishop (an overseer) as God’s steward must be blameless, not self-willed or arrogant or presumptuous; he must not be quick-tempered or given to drink or pugnacious (brawling, violent); he must not be grasping and greedy for filthy lucre (financial gain); 8 But he must be hospitable (loving and a friend to believers, especially to strangers and foreigners); [he must be] a lover of goodness [of good people and good things], sober-minded (sensible, discreet), upright and fair-minded, a devout man and religiously correct, temperate and keeping himself in hand. 9 He must hold fast to the sure and trustworthy Word of God as he was taught it, so that he may be able both to give stimulating instruction and encouragement in sound (wholesome) doctrine and to refute and convict those who contradict and oppose it [showing the wayward their error]. 10 For there are many disorderly and unruly men who are idle (vain, empty) and misleading talkers and self-deceivers and deceivers of others. [This is true] especially of those of the circumcision party [who have come over from Judaism]. 11 Their mouths must be stopped, for they are mentally distressing and subverting whole families by teaching what they ought not to teach, for the purpose of getting base advantage and disreputable gain. 12 One of their [very] number, a prophet of their own, said, Cretans are always liars, hurtful beasts, idle and lazy gluttons. 13 And this account of them is [really] true. Because it is [true], rebuke them sharply [deal sternly, even severely with them], so that they may be sound in the faith and free from error, 14 [And may show their soundness by] ceasing to give attention to Jewish myths and fables or to rules [laid down] by [mere] men who reject and turn their backs on the Truth. 15 To the pure [in heart and conscience] all things are pure, but to the defiled and corrupt and unbelieving nothing is pure; their very minds and consciences are defiled and polluted. 16 They profess to know God [to recognize, perceive, and be acquainted with Him], but deny and disown and renounce Him by what they do; they are detestable and loathsome, unbelieving and disobedient and disloyal and rebellious, and [they are] unfit and worthless for good work (deed or enterprise) of any kind.
Titus 2:1–8 KJV
1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: 2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. 3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. 6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. 7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, 8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
Paul Tells His spiritual son, he was left behind to set right the unfinished business.
He gives him instruction on what to do to get the work done.
He instructed both his sons Timothy & Titus to appoint Elders.. Bishops..Mother’s & Deacons..
1 Timothy 3:1–5 KJV
1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
1 Timothy 3:8–12 KJV
8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; 9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. 10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. 11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. 12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
God’s qualifications for leaders have nothing to do with education status and has everything to do with Integrity..
Lets Look at a few character strengths leaders should exemplify what i require at NBM.
1.Sober Minded
Titus 1:7 KJV
7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
Titus 2:4 KJV
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
1 Timothy 3:2 KJV
2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
1 Timothy 3:11 KJV
11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
Someone Say Sober Minded

SOBER Characterized by self-control, seriousness, and sound moral judgment

1 Thessalonians 5:6 KJV
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
1 Thessalonians 5:8 KJV
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
1 Peter 1:13 TPT
13 So then, prepare your hearts and minds for action! Stay alert and fix your hope firmly on the marvelous grace that is coming to you. For when Jesus Christ is unveiled, a greater measure of grace will be released to you.
1 Peter 1:13 KJV
13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

The KJV employed “sober” to mean in one’s right mind at

2. Blameless

INNOCENCE, INNOCENCY Condition of not offending God; freedom from sin and guilt. In the OT the adjective “innocence” is more common than the noun. Two roots are commonly translated “innocent.” The basic idea of the first is clean or free from

and that of the second is righteousness

Though the innocent are frequently mentioned, the biblical writers were well aware that only God can create a right heart and remove sin

Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary (Innocence, Innocency)
In the NT four terms are used for innocent.
The first means unmixed or pure
second, free from ;
the third, just, righteous, or upright and
the fourth, clean or pure .
Innocence is always relative to some standard. Paul declared his innocence with respect to the demands of the law

Only Christ, however, is absolutely pure (Rom. 3:9–18; 2 Cor. 5:21). Christ presents believers as holy and blameless before God

3. Behavior as becometh holiness
A quality that characterizes God and, at times, people, places, and things; the precise nature of this quality is disputed.
The modern usage of the term typically refers to a state of being set apart and dedicated to God, characterized by moral purity, righteousness, and conformity to God's will.
The church is a set-apart people, called to reflect, in its corporate life together and before the watching world, the truth that God is set apart from all evil, falsehood, and injustice.
The Reason why the unbelievers struggle with Trusting IN, Believing IN and Having Faith IN God is because of the false leaders that have been presented before them who don’t, won’t & Can’t live HOLY.
2 Corinthians 3:2 KJV
2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
2 Corinthians 3:2 NLT
2 The only letter of recommendation we need is you yourselves. Your lives are a letter written in our hearts; everyone can read it and recognize our good work among you.
But there are people that realize their life is an open book read by men. I they have made up their Mind It’s Holliness..
