Talk about tracks
Story of when the people at the creation museum let us in after having compassion on us.
It was this moment that I fell in love with learning about God and launched my ___
Everyday we make decisions that if made with the right heart, could have lasting effects in other people’s lives.
Is there a time in your life that you can remember that Someone did something for you that changed your life or your situation?
I am willing to bet that most of us has experienced that at least once.
How did you feel when you that happened?
As Christ’s followers we are called to be different
Romans 12:1–2 NIV
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
We are not suppose to look like the world, when we see suffering it should effect us, when we see people in need it should effect us, it effected Jesus, and He took action.
Over the next few weeks we are going to be digging into Miracles and learning from what Jesus did.
This week we are going to be in Mark
Mark 1:40–42 NIV
A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus was indignant. He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.
Let’s get into this verse

Many Times Miracles Were Not Planned

We know that these did not surprise Jesus, but people just came to him. there wasn’t like service time. it was spontaneous, people just came to Him
Be prepared for the unexpected

Jesus Had Compassion

Jesus met the many of people’s physical needs, things that effected them on a daily bases, things that made life hard for them
in verse 41 it says “Jesus was Indignant” in the NIV, I believe that the translators did this verse wrong in the translating, the NASB says that Jesus was “Moved with Compassion,
The word here for compassion is , (Spl-ak-nezz-my) and it is the word for compassion.
Jesus felt compassion for this man and saw his need and Jesus healed him.
What can we learn from this healing
Let’s first have a baseline

We are Called To Be Like Chirst

Philippians 2:1–7 NIV
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
Paul is showing us what we have in our relationship with Christ, and because of that Love that we have we need to be like minded, and become more like Christ
With that in mind as we look at verse 41 in mark
Mark 1:41 NASB95
Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”
Jesus had compassion for this man, but it was not just this man but often Jesus would help those who were in need.

We Need To Show Compassion

People are hurting all around us.
Everyday as we walk by people many of them might be on their last straw and are in need of compassion

Be Someone’s Miracle

Jesus healed the man with leprosy, as healed so many others.
Maybe we can help heal those in need
Share a kind word
tell them they are loved
If you see someone in need help them
Share the gospel with them
People are hurting
people are suffering
people are dying without knowing Christ
AND we can change that
1 Corinthians 11:28–29 NIV
Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.
Luke 22:19–20 NIV
And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
