Body Building: your work

Series Verse:

Colossians 1:9–10 NKJV

9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Today's Verse:

Genesis 1:22 NKJV

22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”

We are called to be fruitful.

then after we are fruitful we are called to multiply.

as we are saved and grow in God’s grace we our lives should be markably changed.

that includes why and how we work.

I have done this sermon about once a year since I have started pastoring.

1. We are called to work.

2 Thessalonians 3:10 NKJV

10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.

1 Thessalonians 4:11 NKJV

11 that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,

1 Timothy 5:8 NKJV

8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

we are called to work. to be productive. to provide for my family. we are called to do this so that God calls to engage the work of our hands to provide for our families.

Since we are called to it by god… then if we allow The Lord will lead you into what He is providing for you.

2. We are called to an attitude of excellence in the work of our hands.

Daniel 6:3 NKJV

3 Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 NKJV

10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

Excellence is right attitude with perfected execution.

If you can you just might do what you want and more.

if you cant your right you never will.

excellence starts with understanding that you are a leader in your life. If you are a christian, Christ is the head of your of your life, but the choices you make in attitude.

our attitude determines our energy and our effort.

if I put enough effort an energy into anything even if i lack everything but great effort and a good attitude.

3. You blessed to be a blessing

Malachi 3:10 NKJV

10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.

Ephesians 4:28 NKJV

28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.
