BE HUMBLE
1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore,
under the mighty hand of God…
James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the
Lord…
Isaiah 66:2 But this is the one to whom I will
look: he who is humble and contrite
in spirit and trembles at my word.
WE MUST BE HUMBLE…
BUT HOW?

HOW TO BE HUMBLE

• Vv. 28-30 – Nebuchadnezzar is proud.
• Vv. 31-33 – God turns the king into a cow.
• Vv. 34-35 – Pride is turned to praise.
• V. 36 – God restores and rewards humility.
• V. 37a – Nebuchadnezzar continues to praise God.
• V. 37b – Nebuchadnezzar warns the proud.
WHAT IS HUMILITY?
Accurate view of self and a glorified view of
God.

Self because of God. God above all else.

TURN YOUR PRIDE
INTO PRAISE
APPLICATION
• Parents – when your child brags, ask them “Who
gave you the ability to do that?”
o Teach them to recognize that God should be
praised for what they can do.
o Pray with them and thank God for making them
that way.
• This week – make a list of your talents,
accomplishments, and favorite possessions.
o Every day for a month, praise God for each
thing you listed
APPLICATION
• Memorize Psalm 144-150
o Next time you are proud:
• Quote the passage to yourself.
• Thank God for who He is and how He made
you.
• Pray that God will help you have the correct
view of yourself.
