Story: My parents growing up taught me this Psalm. My parents practiced Spanish witchcraft so I was experienced many weird and scary spiritual things. This Psalm was what I cried myself to sleep reciting. It brought me comfort. However, I trusted upon the Psalm itself to bring me comfort and protection not the Shepherd that the Psalm spoke of.
I. The Shepherd Provides, Renews & Guides (Psalm 23:1-3)
II. The Shepherd Comforts & Protects (Psalm 23:4)
III. The Shepherd Blesses & Welcomes us in (Psalm 23:5-6)

This Shepherd was prophesied in Isaiah 40:11
He will tend his flock like a shepherd;
he will gather the lambs in his arms;
he will carry them in his bosom,
and gently lead those that are with young.
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.
“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
