Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, so that you may approve what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God.”
Day by day as we traverse this life, we are confronted with many challenges. A life without Jesus, is a life without hope, it is a dark life. Once we decide to live a life for Jesus, we are called to a transformed life, yet that transformation does not stop at the new birth as some think it does.
Judah - just a regular guy, yet this name Judah, which means praise, this name Judah which people honor, like all of us has a checkered past. Genesis 37:18, Genesis 37:26–27 “Then Judah said to his brothers, “What profit is there if we kill our brother and conceal his blood? Come, let us sell him to the Ishmaelites, but our hand shall not be against him, for he is our brother, our own flesh.” And his brothers agreed.” “And they saw him from a distance. And before he drew near to them, they conspired against him to kill him.” Judah, a carnal man, a normal man of flesh and blood. Genesis. Another Judah, this one named Judas, sold Jesus
Genesis 38:24–26 “And about three months later it was told to Judah, “Tamar your daughter-in-law has played the whore, and now, behold, she has conceived by prostitution.” And Judah said, “Bring her out and let her be burned.” She was brought out, but she sent to her father-in-law saying, “By the man to whom these belong I have conceived.” And she said, “Now discern to whom these belong: the seal and cord and the staff.” Then Judah recognized them and said, “She is more righteous than I, since I did not give her to my son Shelah.” And he did not know her again.”
Not every opportunity is God’s will - making money off of the sale of a brother. David, here is your opportunity
Genesis 44:18 - 44 A transformed man. To be transformed, to live a transformed life. You can enjoy listening to the things of God, but we must live them out. You can enjoy the song, but lose the anointing. Judah needed to be transformed. He was 4th in line of the blessing, the inheritance. Reuben threw it away by sleeping with his father’s concubine, Simeon and Levi showed their propensity to violence in Genesis 34 and so they were on their father’s blacklist
