Scripture
sing 2 hymns
scripture
Call on someone to pray

First Hymn

Isaiah 55:1 ““Come, everyone who is thirsty, come to the water; and you without silver, come, buy, and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without silver and without cost!”
Water in John as a theme
But not only in the Gospel of John
but this theme of coming to the
Lord if you are thirsty runs all through the bible
The Lord gave water to Israelites when they
were walking through the desert to
Mt Sinai
The Lord offered the woman at the well living water
Jesus repeats this very theme later in
John 7:37–38 “On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. The one who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.””
And even later, John records it at the final stage of his revelation
So as we sing these first 2 hymns
let us remember that we are
all thirsty and that Jesus is able to provide
living water that with quench our deepest desires
because when we come to Christ
Poor and needy
420 - Come, Ye Sinner, Poor and Needy
he will offer us
105 Grace Greater than our sin

Second Hymn

1 Corinthians 15:57 “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!”
Satan Seemed to be victorious in Garden of Eden and at the cross of Jesus
But God turned Satan’s apparent victory into defeat when Jesus Christ rose from the dead
Thus, death is no longer a source of dread or fear.
Christ overcame it,
and one day we will also.
The law will no longer make sinners out of us just because we cannot keep it
Death has been defeated
and we have hope beyond the Grave
For our Victory is in Jesus!
409 - Victory in Jesus
And through that victory
we are
Satisfied
Satisfied with Jesus - 622

Third Reading

Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus
This means bringing honor to Christ in every
aspect and activity of daily living
As a christian, we represent Christ at all times
Where ever we go
and whatever we say
So as we Go out this week
Let us represent him
to all we come in contact with
So,
Take the name of Jesus with you - 313
