What we are covering
Part 1- First hour(no other foundation)
Part 2- Second hour (Jesus Christ fully God, fully man)
Part 3- Jesus Christ in The Old Testament

No Other Foundation (The center of your doctrine)

If God wasn’t in Christ

It makes him an ordinary man.
His sacrifice wasn't satisfactory.
His claims about himself were lies.
We are still under God's condemnation/Judgement.
The Prophecies in the Old Testament about the Messiah are inaccurate.
There would be no way for humanity to be redeemed from the curse of sin & death.

What foundation are you laying for those that hear you?

1 Corinthians 3:11 “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

Preach Christ(The foolishness) of the cross)
1 Corinthians 1:18 “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
2. As long as our teaching stays Christ centered we will be able to keep ourselves and those we disciple from deception
1 Timothy 4:16 “Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.”
The Preaching of another Jesus
2 Corinthians 11:4A “For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached,

What are the false presentations of Jesus Christ in our generation to look out for.

Not everyone who names the name of Jesus mean the same person as revealed in the Bible.

The Muslim Jesus

His name is Isa
He wasn’t God but a prophet
He was taken off of the cross
He preached Islam (surrender to Allah)
Later, he(Jesus/Isa) also foretold the coming of Muhammad. (As-Saff 61:6)
Allah is one God, who can be neither divided nor multiplied
Note
So in Islam, Jesus isn’t the 2nd person of The Trinity(The God-Head)

If Jesus isn’t God in the flesh then we are still in our sins

1 Corinthians 15:17 “And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!”
If the Islamic religion can move us away from the foundation of the resurrection then we have no redemption in Christ. (Study and memorize the verses on the resurrection)
No other human being can redeem another human being from sin
1 Corinthians 15:22 “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.”
God came in Christ do it Himself
2 Corinthians 5:19 “that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”

Jesus Christ is the last revelation of God to humanity.

Hebrews 1:1–2 “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;”

Jesus reveals the Father

John 14:7 ““If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.””

Jesus reveals The Father but as The Son of God, NOT THE FATHER HIMSELF (A distinct person)

John 14:11 “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.”
Jesus The Son of God is God, revealing The Father and glorifying Him
John 14:13 “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

The God-head/The Triune God

Matthew 3:16–17 “When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.””

Old Testament understanding of The God-head

The Shema: Deuteronomy 6:4 ““Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!”

The word ONE in this passage is ʾeḥad, in Hebrew which stresses unity while recognizing diversity within that oneness.

Adam and Eve are described as “one flesh” (Gen 2:24), which includes more than sexual unity.

More on the God-head/Trinity later

No Prophet is greater that Jesus Christ

From the words of John Baptist himself, the last of the old testament prophets
John 1:27 “It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.”
John The Baptist understood that Jesus was the ultimate fulfillment to atone for sin, something only God would be able to do as The lamb of God which was a title for Jesus Christ.
Revelation 5:8–12 “Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!””

To conclude with Islamic Jesus

The Islamic Jesus(Isa) is another Jesus
Isa makes no atonement for sin
Isa is deliberately made to counterfeit and replace The real Jesus of The Scriptures who is God in flesh

Hinduism and The False trinity/God-Head

3 main gods out of millions
False trinity
Bramhan
Vishnu
Shiva
Hindu Beliefs
Hindus don’t believe in Jesus as being God. Rather, Hindus believe there are many “gods.” Within the belief system of Hinduism, there are millions of “gods.” The favorite “god” of Hinduism is Ganesha. Ganesha looks like an elephant and is worshiped by most Hindus.
The other favorite “gods” of Hinduism are Vishnu, known as the preserver, and Shiva, known as the destroyer. Brahma is also a “god” within this faith system. As one can see, there are a myriad of “gods” in this religion.

These are not gods at all

The “gods” Hindus worship are not gods at all. Rather, Hindus worship demons. It is not surprising for demons to masquerade as other beings
1 Corinthians 10:20“Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.”

Last thing about Hinduism is its basis on salvation from works

3 ways of salvation for Hindus

The three different views of salvation are that the individual can obtain salvation by either the way of works, knowledge, or devotion.
The Bible says we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus.
Ephesians 2:8–9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

Building good foundations

Against these 2 false religions we must have good foundations

There is No other name

Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.””

There is only one mediator between God and man

1 Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,”

A wise person builds there teaching on Jesus as The Rock

Matthew 7:24 ““Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:”
Everything you do in your ministry will be determined by your understanding of Jesus Christ
Colossians 2:3 “in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Gods wisdom is in Christ imparted to us to those who believe
1 Corinthians 1:24 “but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.”
