God speaks the world into existance
God makes man in His image
adam and eve
places them in garden
they sin against God plunging the whole world into sin and seperation from God
from there we see cain murder his brother able
and in ch 5 we get the geneology of Adam

This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created. And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters. So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.
What do you notice from these verses
Made in Gods image
created male and female
there is no gender identity crisis in the bible
Adam had his son seth at 130 years old
He lived to be 930 years old
We have to aknowledge the world that God created was very different than it is today
Continuing the geneology we are introduced to
enoch--- lived 365 years and then was taken up
By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
We also read about methusala who was the oldest man recorded in the bible at 969 years.
The geneology is meant to lead us to Noah and his 3 sons

Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.
Men multiplied greatly
Sons of God----refers to angelic beings or demon possesed men
Partook in grave sexual sin.

And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
God was watching humanity of man unfold
He was not liking what He saw
The result of the fallen angels having children with women
was Giants
Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
God saw how evil mankind had become
results of the corruption of sin in the world
was so ghastly and repulsive that God was sorry He made men
Because of the great sin in the world,
God decided to destroy all the people and creatures in it.
However He found favor in one man
that man was Noah.
Q. Do you think we are as wicked or close to as wicked as the days of Noah?
Q. What are some things that prove the wickedness of the world around us?
Mostly sexual sin, war, homo and heterosexual sin , murder, deception, covetousness, suicide
Sin had corrupted the world back then and there is the same problem today...
God was able to find favor in the one man Noah
In this story He will become a type of Christ..
God is going to use Noah to save the world
and throughout the story we will see how this points to Christ.
This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
Noah Just....perfect ....walked with God
Noah raised His family in the ways of the Lord
even though the world was exceedingly sinful around us
Isint it the same today.
Do not be conformed to the world
Do not be conformed to the world
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
The world is super shiny
But the closer you draw to God
the more dull the things of this world will look.
Story -
It takes bravery to be different than the rest of the world.
a true rebel does what is different.
When the whole world is in sin
we need to be different
we need to be walking with God.
But the world will tell you that you need to be walking with them
Q. What does it look like to walk in the ways of the world as a teenager?

world is anti church anti Jesus ---want a jesus without righteousness
temptation is to walk with the world and keep your christianity.
you cant do that .
will you make a decision to walk with the Lord
instead of walking with the world
Noah was willing to walk with God
even though the whole world was walking in sin
God saw Him and decided to use him
Noah was walking with God by faith
that Gods ways were better
and by faith Noah was used by God
Faith leads to obedience
Faith leads to obedience

God is going to bring His wrath against the entire world
Fear of the Lord —unleash his wrath on all evil
Righteous judgment ----
tells Noah to build an Ark - grace
3 stories, take 2 of every kind of animal, creeping thing, birds
came to Him---didnt have to hunt them
kinds meaning wild dog--- after flood all of the wild dogs —not every type of dog
God establishes a covenant with Noah-
I am providing a way of salvation for you and your family.
Obey- build this ark and You will be saved>
Q. What does this sound like
The Gospel
There is a judgment coming against sin.
God has provided the way of salvation through the sacrafice of Jesus Christ.
All you need to do is get in the ark whom God had provided… The Lord JEsus
Some might say God was unfair to the people in Noahs day
and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;
Noah was preaching about YAHW
preaching repentance
people did not want to obey
It is the same thing today.
it boils down to faith
Do you believe that your a sinner
do you believe that God loves you
do you believe that you need forgivness
do you believe that Jesus is God
and that He died in your place to take away your sin
When you believe that you will obey Gods commands like Noah

We look at Noah
When the world was walking in evil, He was walking in righteousness
What are the worldly things that are evil things in this world
that are pulling you towards sin?
Will you turn away from that.
God is better than your sin.
but you can only do that by relying on Him
obedience comes from trust in Gods power
