The Lexham English Bible Chapter 5
And this is the confidence that we have before him: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
Jesus of Nazareth—how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with him.
5 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask for it from God, who gives to all without reservation and not reproaching, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask for it in faith, without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed about. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. 11 W. Hall Harris III et al., eds., The Lexham English Bible (Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2012), Jas 1:5–8.

8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and ⌊forever⌋.11 W. Hall Harris III et al., eds., The Lexham English Bible (Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2012), Heb 13:8.

13 No one who is being tempted should say, “I am being tempted by God,” for God ⌊cannot be tempted⌋ by evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14 But each one is tempted when he* is dragged away and enticed by his own desires. 15 Then desire, after it* has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it* is brought to completion, gives birth to death.
16 Do not be deceived, my dear brothers. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of change. 18 By his* will he gave birth to us through the message of truth, so that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. 1

14 Therefore, since the children share in blood and flesh, he also in like manner shared in these same things, in order that through death he could destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and could set free these who through fear of death were subject to slavery throughout all their lives.11 W. Hall Harris III et al., eds., The Lexham English Bible (Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2012), Heb 2:14–15.
5 And he was not able to do any miracle in that place except to lay his hands on a few sick people and* heal them.* 6 And he was astonished because of their unbelief. 11 W. Hall Harris III et al., eds., The Lexham English Bible (Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2012), Mk 6:5–6.
3 who is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, sustaining all things by the word of power. When he* had made purification for sins through him, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high11 W. Hall Harris III et al., eds., The Lexham English Bible (Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2012), Heb 1:3.
