I. THE PROMISE
“But ye shall receive power.…”
Before Christ ascended, He told the disciples to wait until they were filled with power (Luke 24:49).
A. Power to worship—John 4:24. This Spirit always helps us to pray (Rom. 8:26).
The single most important thing to understand about worship is that the only worship that is acceptable to God is worship that proceeds from a heart that is trusting in God, and in God alone.

When God put Adam and Eve in the garden, He did not put them there to sit and look at each other and to hold hands. He said they were to take care of the garden. You remember that—they were given something to do. Some people believe that work is a result of the curse, but that’s not true. The idea is abroad that the man who works is a boob, and that work is only for fools—but God made us to work.2
