1. Sex is a gift
1. Sex is a gift
Myth 1: Sex is god
Myth 2: Sex is gross
Truth: Sex is a gift
Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth, a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love.
2. Sex is more than just physical
2. Sex is more than just physical
Myth: Sex is just a physical act.
Why is it that when a child is molested, they can’t just shake it off and move on?
Why is it that when a woman is raped, is is so much more devestating than just being beat up?
Why can a woman report someone who beats her up, but feals like she can’t report someone who raped her?
Why is it that when someone says, “I want to talk with you about something I’ve never told anyone before,” I automatically know it’s pertaining to their sexuality?
Because sex is not just physical, is it?
If you treat it like it’s just physical, you hurt yourself at the deepest level imaginable.
3. Sex is meant to be exclusive and unifying

and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh.
Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.”
Glue that binds a couple together
Exclusive bond that they share with no other.
Faithfulness builds trust
4. Sex comes with responsibility
4. Sex comes with responsibility
The commitment to a spouse:
Men Eph. 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,
Women Eph 5:22
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
Responsibility to be ready to receive Children and raise them Ps127:3
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.
5. Sex within marriage is meant to be frequent
5. Sex within marriage is meant to be frequent
But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
Marriage helps limit temptation to sexual immorality.
Reason to abstain: Prayer
But then come back together.
“women in highly religious relationships (couples who pray together, read scripture at home, and attend church, etc.) were twice as likely as their secular peers to say they were satisfied with their sexual relationship. And the men in these couples were fully four times as likely to report being sexually satisfied as men in relationships with no religious activity.”
